convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,; T) N4 G* J4 u! h! b5 O! S1 W
36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic, x7 ~8 x2 X, Z/ D
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces
# D$ Y% }! N2 V1 j S& A/ Gthe look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
" M# r) N# k7 h7 \9 V9 whas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is3 ~. Y! ?5 I0 u6 a# y; G
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while# U# ~2 I. ~8 }8 @" Q& c
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
( c! Z& |, M" u7 p; {cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features8 w/ ]; K+ ~- u$ i* H! S( P' E
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality
# F3 c% V1 r1 ]5 ^, i3 a- X Y, hprints and video.1 ?* R& n7 b+ r: I: H3 B m9 [
To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
3 ?5 u% ^9 a3 m# f, g4 fnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models3 @! ]; ^ x1 e+ E" b2 y/ P/ G
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
" n/ j0 k, E( ?8 d3 [( K: }countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first3 [" Z8 N# ~: `9 S* A& X0 X2 _
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
/ o) y& M$ n0 G- D' {- X/ F5 |like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
5 v* A! e. k4 r( x5 N9 iacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I2 [8 _1 {: S1 L
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as5 }4 K3 `* c! E* b3 w; C3 M A0 k
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse9 I& p5 P. |, |1 |7 C
photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add$ T6 G" Q w# _( ]0 {; k- f
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the- R) y& _% R/ P, E
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express
