matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance
9 o& E2 S/ u6 L Xin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
! d: K4 C$ [7 z; M: f' q( y8 T) vallows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject
* N: y p$ b5 Fwithout having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography
% w# t1 R! S$ Y8 W/ q+ T" v8 ^was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum+ [& [6 ~7 F2 D3 j$ Y! U& K7 u+ t
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was% P% {7 _3 V" H' [5 F1 _
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and+ B3 |% P$ `( E! i3 ^. ?8 b' X
convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
- M( C* z# p1 b& f- obefore, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

* d% t4 t7 X# y1 M1 RWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,

range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces

D-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
* _$ u( L$ K1 k# N1 v9 khas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is- a2 z9 l2 n0 N) d: G E
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
f' @# j- Q. l% W' p7 J8 _4 A) ?5 `also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
9 ]' P# ] \4 B- \6 J( H S! y/ ucameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
: R8 M- k) R' u, j2 ?( @! rin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality- i1 x7 w& d% m/ k9 } Q$ w
prints and video.
) |1 B! }) V; g9 \To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is" u. T% |8 `( {0 A o
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
' ?- Q4 `# h7 O" }are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
8 M5 O: ~) q5 M: n$ Vcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first' s8 Q/ @( d) G# Z+ d
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws6 H. _* M! U, {
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
, Q) d u8 E8 uacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
7 A7 D+ F8 h' lam enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as2 `+ @3 J, s6 s2 D0 t% U0 s
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse+ T; o2 K% g+ |5 Z, ]
photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add
# X4 Q, f+ t$ A3 a' {4 `1 H S# L$ z# Vtremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
; _# K6 b3 x- G' v- tD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express
* `8 ^6 y3 T" zis that now I will think differently about the images I make.

compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal7 k1 U6 a& |6 A$ ^2 O/ d
artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for/ B$ P& i! C$ U7 o4 G, c2 P
the high-end 35mm D-SLR market. I have never worked with a 35mm digital

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they `1 L7 C9 K: q8 u# F
perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly- l8 r0 s4 s/ F7 l4 c
clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility4 |' v1 ?1 @. O2 m+ m' |9 e
to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional# `$ E; E; g/ g% d
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality) E0 ?6 Z7 O9 b" }+ D1 [
