Speed and power, without compromise. That’s how I’d sum up my impression

now inside a phenomenal, incredibly responsive Nikon machine. At 36.39 T3 g; ?- A0 k0 R8 K( S$ C) X5 o
megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution& x3 u5 f7 O- b8 }+ A% {% s. V
within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color/ E8 ^& s# {% B
matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance
! e1 A- r* L( j6 t, l; e! nin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800# K$ t2 b0 _% o, {8 h! {
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject
~7 ^& [, X7 ]& a9 S/ V6 owithout having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography! }( Y; y, J! N
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum. D: }- }8 W7 @2 x$ I* j7 f
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was

convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown

' F: y4 _7 g" K# p& d8 {9 d9 o. TWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
! D( G5 X5 @1 k8 n36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic
0 e$ g3 s2 Y. M) \1 zrange, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces7 n8 ^* R' ]% o$ H
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a* |" ^( x) `) t& G8 ?' m2 N
D-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as

easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while; E" t- I5 {, T+ W
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
% n2 h/ D# ]1 o5 Ccameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is' K `1 [4 ?/ C4 B- ~6 C- G) a ^
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
- v! S7 i' t. R. N. L2 nare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using6 P, D& a) p! H) m g# i4 I
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first# e5 q" H2 h" G$ w$ }7 V
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
9 c/ H8 o$ i8 w7 o9 E! vlike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
$ e5 Q- |- ~8 _8 {3 pacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I4 q- E5 U* K6 A7 G( x
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,6 d& x7 G" [ |1 q

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they

clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility1 u* L" o; R+ I# q$ J8 e# o

range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
