Job Description:; I+ |' M4 {6 A4 D
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed# d8 `2 l3 i6 ~ H5 \% z: H
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components, X9 S4 ?6 `, B7 {1 h
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers7 X6 N' V3 ^" M' ~
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
7 w5 L3 ^# M; v; ?0 c• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
% l# M0 E! S: l7 r& J8 |5 }• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment/ b, d2 u# V* y
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools4 q& O- ~& r6 ]; f9 J! t. g! P
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
M" K+ M1 }+ n4 }6 N8 j• Mix paint, blend and match colors
5 t3 F/ u- e! _& H7 ?" a9 }• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns) G# t- R) D5 ?( M# s* f: a
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
; j- p; M9 j6 w& H$ r• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation/ W/ s( S3 Y3 s5 p- C7 X
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling$ j% t! H+ G7 d. e J2 y
Education and Experience Requirements:3 |; f% W ]: h, ?3 U
• Completion of secondary school is required" r+ D9 A5 v- j1 t! u3 ?
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program " ^6 N) o* d O3 d/ U! ?

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
' t) M+ m) m. \: q/ ]( a; A8 |! O• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
