5 K8 H' f3 K* P$ G1 n8 ]2 q• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
, b) l4 ^6 W6 g+ M* E& o! W1 s• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
) }( y0 ^$ G# S• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers& d& p9 M/ V* D
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams' }- v+ |0 g2 l. X6 Q7 ~+ x+ {
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place8 D3 o- ]+ O$ J9 m( m) c6 ?
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment# G( z- M3 i8 o9 R8 f
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools/ H5 k! ^. y6 v! n Y5 ?9 ~# {
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
7 \! m% g6 W+ W8 B• Mix paint, blend and match colors1 Q8 i. g: [2 q
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns. j0 k$ w7 I9 D8 H. z/ F* a3 |
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
: Q) \' m8 j. y, h" s• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation$ H9 P0 K9 `5 L/ Y
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

- S2 c& K) H1 }• Completion of secondary school is required7 s1 k) j8 x" A9 L
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program + p3 U" Z' f/ w* T
or, c, p) g9 Q% o& W- E
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
- Z2 q# }7 U! ^& h5 x6 D7 U• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 6 B; v9 }. B4 B1 x1 \
