Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
y0 H1 A- U" a+ Q• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
% v" P: K- ?# x" w% X& H• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST% O) X, d; ~+ ?& c! f, C9 O* W
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately2 z) J" ^4 Q* S$ x2 x; H
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter; G% {9 ?/ c6 x4 ]
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings# o9 C+ u3 `7 t4 n$ _
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents& |% r5 E# @" F5 ?/ @/ g; H/ P
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
/ U m, ]4 q, H2 A/ Q5 i4 W* a• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events- H2 u! b9 e P( L
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events' N( w) ?9 M& D* _
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
% ?+ Q' x1 B( j0 E• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters. L- J3 J d& Y: S* c: _
• Maintain front counter service files$ b; n: i1 [6 r! A
• Perform general office duties as assigned

% Q; X K$ N" V M- MKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
0 z9 B* `9 P. C- Y; r2 M• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! n! p3 E/ y: m
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset

• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
/ [) }; h0 i, m1 H; U+ Q• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook- F' r1 b* J! D, a. y! R! X
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
5 w, ^& d- H i& Y! w• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services
4 f2 L3 g, c2 }' O9 x8 SQualifications:& u, v; p- J0 L9 l" I& M
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ) ?. t* @2 O( U( X' i$ b
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment A; ?; H6 j0 x* i' J
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism9 T, U1 c6 i5 o* ]* n" ]/ A
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision2 |# [) Z0 b) M+ K2 K0 ?+ H
