3 f: m* O# K" AYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:* \3 B: j+ x9 r8 [, a$ |% b. V
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
/ U& J3 O% n! |! W9 h+ i/ j• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
4 E/ }% Q# e* T E. d) j• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
- N! S5 [ v1 ?0 W- W• Input benefit deductions into payroll
+ R9 }, R6 T3 }7 _( a, H r1 j4 V7 J
Reporting duties:
$ g+ M1 w5 E- C* ]2 ~6 \• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider& k) C7 e! c8 T: F
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website+ U& z, X4 ~' R3 _
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
$ ?& A. o. n4 h8 t6 O+ ?2 d• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority$ V/ N# `3 B; G; Y, e
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations; O7 @! |9 }4 _6 O$ ?0 ]
& Y4 R' `2 Z' y4 \+ oCompliance:
/ ~/ h5 p8 q* X/ ~" l• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 3 S5 f6 c8 Q: y
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
9 [, \" d9 Y; ]2 G7 D• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
" G3 C7 p, m" Z• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting V4 ^4 X7 S0 h) V$ ^
2 {3 H# o9 l& `9 g. o: ZAccounts Receivable:& V% [' `( n! M5 l
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit9 h0 ]$ i6 ~/ @" w; G0 z. M% _& t
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department m5 x2 g$ e3 V/ S; `3 O2 c
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments8 n8 U6 k$ J0 A0 w1 Q* G# S3 O
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing2 W4 d& B/ r0 m

Qualifications:& o% V/ i/ _9 x0 G) `9 x$ e
, S- e, X, F, o4 e, b
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
# g$ i+ n' Q" J1 t• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association" s1 f% T( O `* q, m7 [8 i8 d x2 u
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
, \1 v! u0 q$ x+ ]+ m5 p• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office- A/ F6 ~" O* H4 L3 I; ^
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work9 U0 |6 R" u0 ? `( v5 g2 r% E
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure1 o! v. U! r; i% W- O0 O# V" ?
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures' V% Z1 S* [9 ~7 I3 r$ C3 C( g9 K
