Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:: w+ S. j2 [' ~8 Y9 C$ d. G
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
5 Y- }" `, a4 F, N• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll+ G! k$ f; a: D) G
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ' f2 ^3 }2 R! N; R" Z' l
• Input benefit deductions into payroll' h# D4 ~: O2 U; g) s6 n$ k" ~

Reporting duties:' X7 o. W3 U" d0 T' i1 K8 w9 ~
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
) \3 ?7 F" d+ p' z• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website) T% c3 ~5 {, c/ A M
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s4 L9 z& |9 l, B
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority# G6 C5 |9 K p% z# j% r0 {; {2 F
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
& z B4 \9 m, \$ [1 h: R• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.! `) }# H7 v8 _6 @3 L9 Y8 F4 e
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
3 h G7 T' o/ p• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:
# ?( n. g: j& f# P• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit6 I6 f# z6 B7 T0 Z
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
" l5 y1 r0 L1 s' D* \9 V9 w4 u• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments7 [, H- h" o+ F7 P7 M9 P$ k) r
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing( b& z+ ]! F! A! q; u# Y, u
* F" k1 Y* ] g7 k/ p$ F+ Q6 c
Qualifications:
! T2 P x- j8 a5 e
2 B8 T1 _/ S j J$ e) {9 M• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
( ]. }- J+ k2 N4 k, h7 y• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
# w; K* ]. o" a6 \% U, d• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position2 P8 N' l' H T- O$ m D, U% C
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
8 W4 p* P g' W/ |7 N; h• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
& ^( ]; \, [4 j: V1 c• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
