YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. % x9 Y( G% l. K; R
Job Responsibilities:7 z: a. e" x+ w1 p: R- y2 X5 o9 `% _
/ P) t# z' C( W4 s/ I- hPayroll:1 F6 f) P' U5 M# k
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired/ \: |6 g1 Y* p! l/ r0 F7 @
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
& Q! w9 K2 F/ _' v1 G" d• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
: {+ ?) Z/ r$ w2 g& t$ z7 e: _* @$ `( M• Input benefit deductions into payroll
9 S: o/ O) ?% F$ k7 a4 R# x9 N, G* s6 O5 P5 H: x
Reporting duties:
& z9 G1 n/ N9 L, @( }3 C( v& k• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
8 A3 |& |/ `" U R• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website4 ]# n+ s; t& B
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s3 u6 L& `, c, G1 S! C# y7 y
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
4 E, u5 Q y' i• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
* T2 Y, k/ w( y- f• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies8 \6 Y, s5 ] u
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit9 J" Z1 |( Q/ t5 t
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department- j( D* Y+ w% d
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
% e5 O' {1 F3 L* {# L8 g• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

' M: G4 P& O( ]7 @7 o* ZQualifications:# X& z8 `' e( c' r' k
3 ]3 B; G( l3 i2 g# W6 D3 u5 I• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
7 d9 U. }. J% Y4 V• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
0 G2 A3 y: O" X/ K/ v# ^• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position, ?- H* Q$ ?5 }, B2 i# h
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
) B- X- H$ c. @• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work& M$ w3 k+ e2 S% {4 n# i" m" G
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
