YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 5 Z' W. A9 D' Q8 j
Job Responsibilities:, d3 Z a2 C* v

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
6 H7 x2 U6 s& z' a) i- u' Z* i' H& S4 O2 {• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll9 ^$ e8 W- ~) r" C
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ; ^0 c) T- y8 a1 i4 O" v @5 r
• Input benefit deductions into payroll- T$ H$ P f' w3 ?. i9 v

Reporting duties:+ O$ {( b, [/ z7 p
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider% S+ X( n" L4 I- m0 x
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
% g7 P, u/ O2 R" f n: O2 g# Q• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
4 R6 I7 T; y0 v* G9 X0 n• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority1 o5 s$ V l4 t$ I- v a5 o- n8 c' T
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

6 @) A6 o, o: D4 _• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
* f, C9 W* X1 I! ^6 B, O0 h• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
: ]1 f! r3 Q3 [3 q8 r3 @• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
; ~# _) S6 ~& j- i2 z; I% V• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

8 r5 \/ o( k7 `+ u• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit. E `/ p* {0 r" f1 e2 L2 _
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department6 f/ Z# U6 s8 g- |; O9 O% p! O8 q
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP- a0 I6 K" o3 g5 u# S7 E
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association; u& w% x% ~% B8 G
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
' b) Y9 J& \& K+ E3 \• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office+ n. a7 Q5 d: S8 ^: V
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work2 K8 f+ A) V2 j; C3 T
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure7 H) v# s; U$ E: B
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
