& g; J1 X+ S" O% U2 |7 RYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
: \! I2 j/ Z8 `3 R, |8 K. Ypeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
7 D) ]8 J0 M0 X* bThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
" G: h5 v$ ]$ r, Q' l6 i' X* lThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
* a9 O. Y7 U& I3 F# ~0 rthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
! V' _6 @2 P! }+ c; Bparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
( M  p& T2 H) w0 Y2 H0 U6 [personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
" D; ]  p, Y7 k: QAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
