. {3 _+ ?2 W: l& HYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
+ r6 q# S5 R0 u& fAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
! t  ]7 H( V. H' ]" Z7 h, Jpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
: P/ W- d- f; T5 hThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
8 H5 y2 z% H* dThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
2 P& t  Y3 |; n( g, v" tthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
" Q$ x: q6 \* u/ b6 Y5 {0 i7 J' `3 Dparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
: \' [: Q0 S" M+ upersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
/ O4 `& e! j/ `and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
