1. It's cool:cool
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard. 所以可以说:" `5 o) ?: j: d% z# b: J
% G0 h. R5 F4 r* D
  That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.% i' F9 r6 N% O  `4 A! u- [4 s
' d5 H/ W  n+ c' Y/ X# c- U5 f
  Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错); Z$ g2 f0 Q" p7 A

- F) T, G: M7 ]. P5 C1 ?2 A5 Z8 Y' v+ D  主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。因此,也可以说:  W$ s% t+ a: [3 q1 ~6 P' h$ ?
; t: s$ f$ }! q/ A  X, K
  She (He) was cool in the past., Q4 j" U, O" T' R4 A  v1 {1 d8 M, i
& }7 S0 m3 ]. U1 V6 j
  That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)3 ~# O; g. p% Y7 D, I" q+ a

8 c# n  R% P) P: O; u% u8 P! O  He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)3 i9 D9 ~0 P( H: m' k1 s9 j  h5 N

9 [. V* g" b5 C$ U5 k  但是如果说:Are you cool?
+ C0 Q6 q: y9 V3 ?- G! D) Q$ z/ D. f
  She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
$ W6 O6 u2 p1 Z& @& x% h8 Q/ I3 B% q) b5 q; K+ d
  emotional.
% L6 P8 n: C$ g; ]; ]4 a- [
" P3 O% j% ^$ r: g! G: J  2. Are you trippin'?:trippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)

+ V$ ]5 {- U6 ]4 U  They are trippin'. (= tripping), V1 K/ y, }7 X  N$ ^* V. N- O

& p, _) l& r4 g" |  She (he) is trippin'.
% R9 H0 B1 e1 c+ A  {  S  Z& s
  Mr. A must be trippin'.
( |) p- Z3 M1 Q( v3 ^! h1 @( X& ?/ ~; O4 _/ }
. B5 J! _9 E2 e6 D
. R- e- v& J" k( k/ C
  3. He is a nerd:nerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。

2 C2 G, n! X; ?; h  He used to be a nerd in high school.
( R+ l" J' D- V- c4 B& M. }5 h4 |0 S! ?, i
  Many Chinese students are(或 have been)considered nerds.
3 Q' C6 C$ S; W* d1 `+ [# H- ~- Z' o9 S' _" b5 ~
" y# q! s; y% P! e6 b) W& ~% i, r( j  r
  He is a computer geek.
' u; z% H! g5 C% J" J
  I don't like him because he is a jerk.4 T2 f* u1 m" Y, |/ w

+ j" [4 J3 ~; J& M) B3 F  也可以用复数:5 w, O/ d2 z; j0 N! |

- a9 M' b1 }' \" |/ r  Many jerks are working in our company.
7 e, |' D. M* B7 x3 ^# G
. ?/ d  d. I  |- |/ h& Y0 E; `
# n/ B# j- n4 n. `  They are jerks; He was a jerk in the past; Mr. A has been jerk for years." z0 T4 w5 m2 V0 e1 {* a* z

. Y6 m+ I2 X: _" r0 ?* O3 ?, E  q0 y  (注:有时年轻人也用 dork 这个字,但不如 jerk 流行)
4 |% H& g9 A) j4 J7 O0 N4 R
! b- {0 ^/ a& q7 t, q  4.
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:9 X+ e/ z+ B/ _' d2 m6 z' \% G- A  A8 ]

* p5 |; L4 U5 t' Y+ s  Yo baby, are you trippin'? 意思是:漂亮的姑娘,你的样子有点怪里怪气,有什么心事吗?# S# a. h9 |1 q! c7 }" ]6 v

* K- a% s0 r) u- O. K. P  “Yo baby" 後面可跟任何可以「打开话匣」的句子。诸如:
8 u. N$ [3 W8 @! k6 {$ c* a6 ?. K' _6 [  v$ O
  May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.2 h3 T, t- @) q4 \+ O1 u) m  v

' O# k# g  N/ [( N, X: a7 X  Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)  H( [% Z# t; T( T% ]- K$ x) f
7 U  P2 K# c" R' ^" ?' c8 ?! ], q
  5. Catch you later! (a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等); u  H3 r4 a+ m, y; x/ q. S
- F$ o& M  z1 |4 B- E" _
  有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.
# E* x' o0 P3 l6 Y  P7 N, W% R
$ j( ~. R! T0 Q* _: [2 x  (我要走了,再谈吧!)
