In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
" r: |4 s1 ` QSEDI is staffed to:
7 h$ N3 f7 e( H1 N• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
" {6 {: P) U1 q* {• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 7 r j% K! M1 `( z
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
' w* }% r2 K9 P: H( {! A- L2 F• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs " n; D* z2 \0 F1 }, ?
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 7 Q3 L2 _' b. R- k
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses # p3 m" @* F" v9 R8 U
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
! k1 V6 k6 F' U0 V. H5 |# X- b• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
# C m- |6 w, @* f• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
7 H1 f3 r) ]/ g• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities * [" a/ w/ t) {8 f. T Q- z
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies `6 H( X* f# M0 G; b3 x) B) e. O
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
. X* C3 C# F0 E8 f• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
2 [, E8 E% `3 S0 }7 t# Y& J• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
# B B6 W# Q+ G* h6 B/ T• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

6 W$ o: V* C: T ~& k' Y• Demonstrated group facilitation experience ' @3 n/ n, z; m P
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
6 ?0 X1 O7 f B8 y; t& k7 k• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
, ~* t* E0 O$ Q3 b8 b+ g# F. L• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 9 @5 ~: @) s+ O5 i
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
