$ M. ^& J. I7 F2 R- ISEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 7 ~ k: R1 w7 @# F+ ]/ ~3 Q) i
SEDI is staffed to:
; _ N# Q1 m% p; y• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
! ]$ i" q+ k! Q$ n! T2 K5 S5 r• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ! C" F. T+ J/ o9 @- Q5 z
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
! U1 r1 F- y' S3 o• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs , X4 h/ S& Z7 y) `4 _$ ~
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits / y% h7 |& h B* k2 a# u6 C
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses % a/ P( k, N, m0 Z! y
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada & m0 @4 D& I/ ^. l
Primary Responsibilities and Activities: - T" @ N( ~$ B. H+ p. [3 j
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
@; G" B/ H: g# D% j• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) + T5 o# A0 r- A
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ) u) K: S3 h# c
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
& R+ W# R% K8 d• Working with evaluation and management information systems team . E0 o7 V( g( n" s
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
& B9 E" a4 h# q& t2 f) L. |8 v7 qOther Activities:% Z/ E) @" U, C/ t; _( H/ Y* h; |) ^
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 5 H1 v/ i2 h# ~, B2 Q/ u3 @
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
- {( W5 d1 [; w7 C" U• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
) c* G3 f2 x' z9 d- u; Y$ O: H• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
4 O& f0 R0 |2 t; C• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
- |( q* w& x. E+ u. pPrimary Qualifications:
; F; g6 l, I( g! c) {• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
) `2 y$ I8 e' K) _8 w) w6 Z8 k7 i• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 0 m3 l, U- x5 U1 X( M8 o
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
: b/ U" J9 G: f' U• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
, M! N( g( E! x. x• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts + {4 N1 q# n- B' |% i6 V; G
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
3 w! P/ v- Y& f U: N8 d6 G- _• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
1 ]1 C& U1 {4 F; \* d; N3 v• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 6 c- F4 Q$ i7 r" M& z* c
• Content / curriculum development experience
2 x1 f) V7 P9 e8 \% b- y• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
