3 E, Y$ b% W# p$ XSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ) F8 R0 T; e7 ^$ u
SEDI is staffed to:
0 x7 G& X" b: f: s) V• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
) S# @5 x: [( g8 h7 n. U$ q• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
, l4 V- ?9 _8 U# w3 Q• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 4 H8 p5 s4 x# E* p5 C
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
* c/ u* ~( F9 e. v8 P2 D1 K- Y' }• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
9 `+ B! o- @' Z& T" m• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

, N8 M" j/ h: O& g3 P* lPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: R8 a8 Y4 h U7 }
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
* T; y( L1 L4 F9 \ U$ w• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ( b9 M# _2 \4 U% y! [' e
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required : A i# j7 v! u% V2 s& Q; }7 N
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 9 E4 K6 L+ b8 ^; k
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
1 U# P h. `5 R• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
, N5 ?+ [+ \" @ @+ E# C• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners : M0 G/ T, c2 Q
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
1 h, Z0 p; m5 e• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 8 j2 u* c) e1 l) v
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning , p# d4 L* p5 r5 E$ U7 s% g
Primary Qualifications:
. ]2 ?9 B$ @1 d" z& p8 `7 Q+ s• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
" T h; G5 O. x9 n• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media . k1 S2 @( F: m
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 0 p, V, M) y/ L8 B* M' `; Z" r) e
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 6 {& @$ f& a( P8 O, I* @4 _. X8 w* p
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
2 N: z2 p# e" c2 l' S• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals : X7 s7 ^: ~6 E8 N, b
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts " H- [8 L! Q* }2 V8 e! v2 `( ]6 `" Q
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
$ @# w! i3 a6 a8 R8 y2 q# Y5 x2 N7 j• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 6 P0 _# M; W* B0 {# s- q
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
# P5 o6 O% \( l5 S• Content / curriculum development experience " {0 E. O3 e0 B/ z8 R( q( n
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
) {, e+ W% ?% b' S• Excellent organizational skills
9 j# C* i0 u7 c6 W• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 9 L6 c6 L& B, h- x/ t" a
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
