SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
( _3 Q! x, A; S1 g8 H2 ISEDI is staffed to:
% c' U4 X- h' [• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
/ Q2 a* E, \1 s/ D; }4 c& l• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
3 m: J, ^( M, J) F- n2 B" y• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
. V8 r W$ V7 C1 L• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs . ^- B: w! u. c- K# f
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits + p0 U) r( V, m1 ?
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

. ? ~, p0 ` u/ ZPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
7 F2 n3 s# ?4 c% @• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 8 j8 P. S" q% I4 r3 J& Y" |
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 7 A# E4 ^( j( D! a3 @9 a1 `# x! W% D
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
$ t3 a1 Z" N+ v% F9 n• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 1 X0 |7 `+ _0 M. b
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 9 e; D$ w8 |! W4 X1 h8 _7 m
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required ( @5 ^5 o& Z; ^
Other Activities:
* I/ H; O. o0 n" o9 R1 i• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies . [* Y$ w6 d, d- O& `
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 6 U9 `; }. n$ n2 g
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting & [2 u* [6 M& @7 l) v* R% P
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 7 {! q, B, M3 f4 }5 @7 x
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 8 H5 o+ m- @+ t6 s1 S0 K1 |
Primary Qualifications: 5 l9 @3 c" n* j
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience " c! h2 I/ w3 v$ E
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
* {8 T: W) u! x8 d* |- u• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training h# t6 M2 y9 P/ Y: U
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities ) g& l0 _" W0 I, Z, G. H. C( ?- ]* g
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 1 I2 F) v" l% ?2 X
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 9 M* y" Y/ \2 I, N. S
• Content / curriculum development experience + h+ M$ v' p& q6 X, @6 e' l5 o
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners 0 w! l# w- e8 n+ N% F
• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
