 Set up and monitor work experience workplace training, job shadows, etc.

 Maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for clients.

 Follow up with job maintenance assistance

 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
* e: D; F) L4 ^ Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
- W! s5 f! @+ C! v' S' l) _2 M$ ?) H Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.: g  R& p% f" ]
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

7 H! h( M9 J' l& Z5 E6 S, R" M4 M. ^ Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
; X8 a4 H6 `8 V+ ~: R$ m3 [ Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.
% x5 h# B, I5 x Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
8 t& x  j( t# C% o9 X Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
. Y' x- \$ q) f0 \- P Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
/ e" Y' j4 z2 f0 [4 _' \( a Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.; o* H9 i; K7 `. P* W8 D# p$ A/ E
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
' v6 V0 k2 K# X5 j Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Represent Bredin Institute at meetings, conferences, seminars and other events- C8 }, s. x4 Z1 ?
 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required

& T3 T* c  p; Q9 j, r Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
; {6 F" @% b6 m9 w+ [ Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
5 A1 |; s4 i5 n4 K Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.6 E# z; p% x8 l" T/ x8 }' |
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan

9 v+ k2 f( u, a# j& @ Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada

 Complete participant reviews with the participants
