An arrest has been made in connection to the death of a York University student last week.

Police charged Brian Dickson, 29, with first-degree murder in connection to the suspicious death of Qian Liu.

The 23-year-old was found dead in her basement apartment late last week. 4 q, g9 V9 L$ L" ] z

In a brief news conference Wednesday, police announced that Dickson had been arrested, but appealed to media not to publish his photo. ( Y9 D5 y) r9 R% {! l% h3 ?- d9 `# P

When Liu’s body was found Friday at 11 a.m., after an intruder interrupted a webcame conversation with her boyfriend in China, at least six detectives were able to swarm the scene immediately.
