 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
3 C4 A% w; G- W$ c  @- [9 y Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
5 N. M( M/ }8 \% M Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
+ F: V% ~1 x  @( M6 B7 m( q Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
; ~5 [, B8 g. T1 r, s. @3 g Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
  d7 Z0 K; K: h( f6 F Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
2 D1 B9 e* n+ S; J& t& J Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
+ u% `( o# F# ?8 N2 } Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
5 l0 L$ k' V3 b# q5 j) h) h Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
9 {( u% }* S0 n9 x- N6 T Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
