Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
8 J" F7 N* T) Z" U) H Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
& m+ D. g  z+ Z6 H8 G3 ] Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
1 Y5 x0 s8 j! a! }  Y) Z! L" W8 N Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
# S; c3 ^# d+ d* P" q1 a/ J Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
, H# X5 b5 C' ~8 [7 c. { Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
$ t% P0 z) e: g) l0 Q Current RSW designation preferred   
( q" t9 U( s3 e4 E Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
# a/ T( S  r) \4 ^ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
; F& ]3 a! K( O4 T Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
$ G+ C3 f4 w9 F1 K2 x1 \3 N6 K6 X Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  I& S, |& @5 N Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
