Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
* Y0 _( \( A  n- e Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
$ p! @7 v% R) ~/ o4 @' j; S- | Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
5 j, R9 i9 S8 n8 S. a5 X Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
+ ~) g; _) Z% v5 C" h Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
% W9 ^! p( m8 \1 I4 W. l4 ?4 K. Y Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
! U* K0 |# ?& T/ \& ^4 [/ D$ j1 ~ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
. B- U1 U/ r8 \4 T9 ]; q  Q Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
# `7 h- h5 p' d, R/ ^8 ^  q Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
