 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
: k  q( o, _7 t Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
/ o4 y+ D6 |, z# }( l/ ^ Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
- a: o( ^& \2 m+ C; ^ Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

/ S* k  z9 ~$ d9 }: } Social work degree or diploma
2 L* s' }& _* {8 ] Current RSW designation preferred   
' B$ S9 L, f4 C Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
; X% Z; C3 D/ R) _0 q# J% U+ r Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
) n* W7 M! _0 L: L8 O0 c" f Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
