 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
' w6 Y1 }5 G3 l- S! o+ c4 J Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
3 h; ^: O5 t0 i/ m4 G Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
) C' @# P5 B: m8 \4 s8 k8 ?, w Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
! y. }# I. f3 Z" v0 U+ _* I Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
4 i8 M3 t  ~" x# c$ E2 s- ^& `& { Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
: X. G+ [# v, _ Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
  `9 }1 _" ~3 L" Z. f Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
5 o* f- s/ G$ Z, S: i9 `  g4 ]; V4 P Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
0 k5 J! l  m3 O1 |9 L$ i Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
