Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
4 W. O8 V+ d% Q9 P Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
8 _9 a# [; H. C+ q$ p" O Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
; b! @' k% E5 v% V' d: J- J Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
: \: J0 n; {3 D" k/ G Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
: Y5 |9 ^0 P0 Y" i; T& t1 @$ L Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

4 n- u' R6 q9 I3 M Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 c3 W% r, `) a) I Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& D: `' \5 d. K3 s1 B: `+ H Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
0 D" Q+ Z; ~, |- b5 z9 U$ J; o Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
