Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* K: j- G: p4 G5 V8 O$ K Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
) [1 @! ^. a, S3 Z9 M" Y. S Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
7 C# h/ y" X7 U Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
6 e" b# j7 g$ q5 q; ] Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: K7 [$ n2 G4 Z  }( T, H5 K5 l Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( f7 h" ^& s- X6 u Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
5 h+ R) u: W# ^# `- h) Z Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
% H( @. K$ z- w# @! Q0 T Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ t. V0 \+ t5 s9 z1 q3 D Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
8 F; ?0 Z* {9 O! {8 e, l+ w; @This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
) D  {/ ]: q( G/ z" ]/ Ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
