Key Responsibilities & Duties:

; Y6 K" P, s: @+ R Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
3 ]6 b- J8 W& _" q" ] Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
: P$ _& f, ?0 m$ ^& W. t Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
4 A9 ?! H) [$ z8 v! y, C2 u Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
! B& e0 N" j* e3 B& a' L. f& B Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
+ F) T& h! W, Q, o6 g! M Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
  F5 M# J" }. j' e8 r- N6 O Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; |/ m# ?) h! m2 E Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
: \1 n1 k4 h" |* f- ^" f: ] Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
4 @$ |. G3 [4 P9 r5 s' I  Y% s Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
: _, ~+ o% m" [0 { Knowledge of community resources.
9 d  R/ |5 \3 ^1 |8 H* X# }$ o5 p Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
; w5 [+ U7 g5 a3 D7 }7 s6 L# @' f2 d
Position:
' _8 g. e; k& p0 eThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
