Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
( X  F# u5 T3 K+ i Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
0 t- D8 {" V$ L' t* d, Q9 j8 w Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
+ e: s% O! L7 W Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
" t) y) |" B6 `, v, b  _* z Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
$ j& Y# g8 ^3 \8 A
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
" c# B  W$ _6 k/ E  C Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
, x6 K6 Z! Q$ h, g* |! U% m2 w Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

# y. x- A/ ]0 tPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
