New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
2 v; N# K# Z% w  j+ e Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
0 U3 }+ I+ ^/ b& t Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
5 P  g* j+ M. C% B Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
# V7 u  _* y# T  A8 @( e& } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
$ U+ z* n6 n) K% ?/ a& Q! h Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
1 @$ Z: d- a2 n2 c4 P
' x) ?. s- Q% U8 q' J/ f4 ] Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
9 C4 r9 \' N* t! w8 |0 W6 _ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
