 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; J: m3 S$ J- c' a Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.- r# J! K/ ~/ T+ g2 h( H
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.1 G0 W2 e9 A% p) R+ N. B
 Completing required paperwork.
4 S8 W; H5 W4 f9 p/ { Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
* Q( [/ _% Y9 |6 e1 n$ m! s Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.# e4 U2 L/ H6 y9 n
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. ! F" d+ H+ y/ ~& T) r
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
; j2 L( h2 A/ k8 c/ p! \$ N* n4 _ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.) l7 M, H. J6 t# t# ]
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 ^. O' p& k# [ Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.5 g; B! p# |% O4 S) B$ X
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
! a; E1 K+ P- I) x9 n Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.* H! }* m7 C/ s; E' ^6 T
 Knowledge of community resources.
" b$ P8 @9 z% e+ q Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! c* Q& F6 O, w$ ^! R/ s Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

2 T/ Y' t" ]) v, f/ N6 Q/ b: w& jThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; + j" u5 W; n- d
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
