The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.: p" O7 y3 \# r% Q

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 T k% |6 @8 M7 q0 O; k( }: q
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
" l2 e: B( z4 @% f4 h3 s• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge9 _1 C \. H+ ^1 T x( n1 @
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
# I+ r9 y! Y; q# l! Y" u• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program., ?3 Z$ L2 z- i4 x7 p
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.4 Q# \4 ?/ G' Z8 b; Y9 h/ A1 _: ^4 @) D
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.. g, q5 P2 l; Z4 _( u
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
- a8 y6 o. t s% J' d• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

; Z/ X0 O, ]+ \0 O• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO ]8 Z/ d q! ]6 C4 o
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up) ~, z ^, D. q& J/ C

ADMINISTRATION
1 Y6 p7 G6 R l* ~0 W; M• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position" Y4 R) r$ H2 ]* L+ G
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
# U* a( e; w; z9 b& y/ N• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate6 `, A, A; g9 S" m5 l# L
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
) K/ m' u" [" Y) b$ T• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 2 Q& V4 D1 ]5 g) z( N
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
" l) c7 p* N: G2 G" W1 y• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services) r9 \, \1 E. Z5 h! ?& l* A, q
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances2 ~3 h- T5 u) q, \9 b
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required3 ~- C& h" I3 h0 J" z3 p

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
' g8 u b8 {8 h2 K; z) S• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
' P4 B4 I4 n+ u7 Y! {• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
/ M) X$ ~+ L0 T6 l• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
5 D/ B; J0 H! `/ X* w& Y7 ?• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability. D- b1 n9 Z w8 s& E: F
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills8 S5 i) c" c2 a% O1 G8 I: t" I
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ; h5 Q( U) c4 I4 h4 R4 a0 R/ N% ~2 A
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure9 ~! x' ^* b, ~! R- n& o7 |
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
