The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

% _1 r- d: v7 `6 @OPERATIONS. `, u" m. H2 O! g
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
# a, |6 V( j+ s• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
8 ~3 \ r0 ?( e/ H0 P k! H/ G$ N6 T• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge( l- b) }- E, R& \
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
' s' [5 M. ^& x• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
* z3 P I; a9 o• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
7 [" g) r' p' c9 Q* J4 b" g; c7 A• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
1 u3 d4 y' j% z• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
! m/ h/ L$ [+ Y• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required2 g, A& s" t4 M6 A, B" |& ^/ X

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO& x; Z: d! u/ u$ y6 B
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION! T6 t7 Z& ^! _8 X& n" `$ Q/ Z
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position& o- Q2 ^8 y+ E9 a
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation5 n1 F! y2 _1 Q/ }) t! t3 u/ b
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate7 s( q8 q+ q5 G% w% c
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department$ z$ f. a6 O% ?) F, \3 O
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 8 t2 E, W0 k- }4 X
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
) l( h; L$ S2 c5 E1 R! t• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report) g4 L/ Z; m, X4 W- q

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
1 I& u& ]& t% K• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required, z1 O' q! C6 F. x

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
) ^. e' V7 V F' O, L7 C! s: Y• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
}5 F. p) h3 w• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)+ r% e0 t4 U) z6 U4 D: y' @) N1 p7 M4 J
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ) v7 N7 w7 L& ?' r& D) k2 c
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required% R4 k1 K n" x: Z8 {

Qualifications:
. C( r+ ~1 _4 A: b+ x4 S; S7 m- k _' N$ s
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination0 ?$ {0 r& J0 t$ l4 y
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability* N1 K: F8 ~2 \' [, Z( a
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills: n( X( T3 Z+ ?& X* {4 E1 ^1 o, |
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
2 [4 q. A4 |8 d# x* S$ u" Z• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
( `9 R A2 ~1 A- h, Y• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
A9 g2 o! K# X7 H• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
