The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. % I, j4 |) P8 _& O• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.$ x; N2 [& U$ {0 M* z
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.

/ d8 T9 c8 }' o% e' {3 `! X% P) v• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
E0 r" ^& c6 t8 [' q• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
- q. f1 M5 y ?# x• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
$ m/ z; k: r& E0 t! Z& N• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
! m& V8 H8 J- r F% B• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
% t& x1 l, m) C. G• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING ; S5 r- O7 ^/ Q3 C4 N3 m
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO t9 p2 Q% Q5 c( Q* W/ f- l/ M* ` j3 n
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION' d0 V1 L8 j, V, V$ u- c# V; l
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position. `1 O' I% @- N9 Y2 b" `7 c3 S0 e. P4 ^
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
( X$ C: \, K' @0 `& e5 B9 ~• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate+ Q: T; e3 P: V2 q' W8 U
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
; Z" F2 G5 S8 t7 a! K" q• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ' m5 Y* ]$ F) C+ `% v
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency- y) h: ^; ]; G; i
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required d: Y3 P: S$ R5 L+ @
2 P. J* H6 T0 x$ z8 aINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
9 r( g6 [# L0 D# S' D+ m• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers% Z; Y' p# h4 G: t Q
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
8 [- ]. T5 F) o$ L2 o8 _- S) ?6 x2 e6 h• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate % a, F, a$ Y8 x3 ]* U9 c
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
* a" \" Z# u) I# c+ o! s9 {1 [- i4 M8 |9 L" M
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination1 A! @" C( t. f6 r
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
7 z1 W& b9 M+ u9 l• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% ^" u5 x! B/ \3 k/ P$ p• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
6 \8 f; V. F' w8 M• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
' s* }8 `/ j! P4 y+ g: e• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects $ L3 E8 G' W+ U0 _
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
