The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.$ Q+ X# v. w4 {+ H
( @1 q# n( q- D# K3 v* K9 @This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.9 H6 }+ {2 O) U; L9 ? \
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
! J5 B3 P$ W5 s+ p% S" n1 Y$ K• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
) `" L0 Z, W& F M$ t• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.# Q/ L8 [( }/ D$ K# Q2 _0 _$ n
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
5 Z6 V4 O8 H. |$ C4 K• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
& o4 B" o( R7 j- J i• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
z F- q- i) f6 h# ?• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities7 i! R, i$ ?, P# \
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required8 S- k8 ?) b" y4 {

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO: H: U+ Q" z! }
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
. G q6 t3 q. X) \• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
# Z9 ]# a* `& g% b" y• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation3 X% ]' z5 j2 }' X
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
) [) m- ]! P* J' p6 L4 I• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
: c3 C! b2 `, H" F- Z' g4 h• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
( \+ r9 w# T2 l; j: ?- H& v) X0 F• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
6 }/ c" Q* T4 @4 u& p# z% H; t• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
& J. P, k; @4 m9 R/ p• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

. `2 j; `& B* S# s: g• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances, ?/ U9 f0 Z _& X- m6 Y4 g
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

' [9 ?. N+ n7 e1 i) `' f• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers2 ?' i# n' E7 Y* V3 ~
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta) b1 ]$ M" `' ]9 z4 g8 F
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
! N; d, p/ l2 j* J- E6 e) [! }* t• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required" |" ~! v" K0 _/ X3 Q% g" }9 W

Qualifications:& \ c" ?( h* j3 A

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination6 E0 C7 B f# x2 E
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability) d( U; t$ y+ C7 ?
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills- A+ N2 o* u* v
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills F8 s* a- H9 I/ M% C; k
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
3 k% M* m& A( y s0 ~# ~, l• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 1 y1 a8 y. c* o' x
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality' W7 N( ?; Q0 V" ]
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
