The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. • Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.- e+ ~" L; w3 R
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
" p# [9 n3 \5 l5 q• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
$ A5 D' [! ]: u. o( f3 I* F• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.) f8 _) Y. |* `* l- d
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.' m+ ?+ V8 N& F1 X1 b" E
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours., `8 \! ^; ?$ }9 N& U, k F8 r/ ^) K
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
0 I1 m/ i8 }& @' m5 W/ p• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities& p. ^1 Q& K1 g& I3 e
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required g6 N/ d& k. ^. V* R/ ]6 P# S

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
: b/ ~1 d' J7 Q4 R# B• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position2 [# ~* R8 k* P9 }" \
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
+ {5 B8 X" ^7 u+ s• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
5 U. e- J- U0 N+ T- v• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department; m3 K- H |+ m V
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
3 @4 @2 a. G) T$ l* \• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
. G+ [& i# v3 z2 m• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

+ w3 m1 j; S. i; q- T3 T0 V• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required$ _) e" k( x5 p
; T- v6 p$ f9 c" S" n0 zINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
% }8 q0 J" o6 b* g4 w$ N5 o• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers# E, K1 n5 }# _1 ~6 R [4 j9 M
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)% [. N* E. y$ E$ Q3 w/ \: m, @
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 7 |3 ?4 `( U) a8 x- ~
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination9 \1 i9 ]! s1 c. n& z% k* b
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
/ o3 i9 t' Z$ E0 q; Q• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills0 V1 u Q8 l9 r2 E9 b: E& ?4 p6 M
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
