Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

6 \* {2 g& t+ y' WMajor Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
  W! m, ^5 `% ?' d& i•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
: c& c0 R/ k* p! e% N4 o& O•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
/ g: E2 ~7 ]# ^3 ~5 F: p•        Others.

Qualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
2 t3 g5 ]) h2 I( i3 v4 y•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
$ C: S' g+ n8 a- {•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

4 W; H" ?* y/ I$ a0 cSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
