Key Responsibilities & Duties:

2 S0 }- \6 _7 S: t5 j+ P. N1 X5 C Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
. r2 d. S4 Z8 F& c- O Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
6 i5 D: [6 v- R6 O2 ~: W0 D Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
# C6 Q* x% G' U6 v- C( r Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: t, V8 X/ x. a8 K6 Y Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
% s- t) N; Y4 O4 a+ @, t  m Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
: F* s  _9 r4 n. A' y( K+ s6 r Knowledge of community resources.
; `& u, u9 I4 D2 j Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 A7 p& a2 ?6 U+ i2 Fstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
