Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.* e2 r$ _* J5 a0 k5 G) x$ b
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.' d" }8 @: m$ K
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
! n8 l7 w0 x' V0 J Completing required paperwork.
. M" I+ y, k7 B |* @ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.% u" Q0 u+ `; f2 ]( U
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.$ k; C. p% y3 R( S7 Z. e
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
|5 p8 v6 K0 N: e+ ]6 p1 L Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.' f" h0 |( E H9 j
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
& J0 i$ m5 `0 d y% y3 b5 W) F Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
" p! J: a' n4 a% x+ I3 a( R Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.0 D) O* L/ F M* U$ `: l2 w2 U- J
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.: e+ g- y& [ Q9 s3 g# g
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ I1 b! G2 }. x. n E Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.! E) R5 A3 r7 t" ]+ n& k& R9 E
 Knowledge of community resources., P" C' x' S! l8 K% @! @
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance., ]% Y: e; I" u9 B$ \. N6 j) E
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; / X m, R9 Y2 @1 i+ M
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
