Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

7 n6 p( V( W; L Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 K4 t3 \( `4 b Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

3 w" J& v# w4 l/ w0 C! F Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ v: T0 N3 Q8 y, V/ A Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
3 A. F1 q1 \: s8 D! D Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& j2 o# i1 X7 C5 j Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
# O$ ^2 ]7 _( e1 y Knowledge of community resources.
% [; d1 }7 H# h8 {$ V Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
. @, _9 S6 p; u6 U5 ]) k Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 ~( d; j5 C/ E4 O( H, k7 c" m7 }1 ostarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
