$ C: D: P0 o; E2 N  r$ c5 ~: l9 Q' XAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

: m+ ?0 R: L, j7 V* {' ?DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ n8 j7 M: t9 S7 r* MEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
" B+ t+ B9 `2 p5 u% K( D• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
6 o* A$ G: y# H• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
; J$ h' F4 g2 k0 g! v• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
. W" ~6 c2 E2 \7 q• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

) x/ D- Q/ Y& z( {" u1 FSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
0 z; {5 t" v+ F1 ^( \- L3 i• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
7 @- n6 [, K! g/ m5 ]• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
- i9 e1 T3 f& N' b5 K3 g• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
2 O; k5 d" k# D0 d# z% J0 p• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
4 V/ a& c7 s6 C4 X: R6 ?( F9 n0 Y7 ^  ~• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
2 d1 B7 P: i, z• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
