4 O/ k. x) N8 T) |+ N4 v1 PAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

' C' B6 m/ Q; m* ?  H• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
) x( d' I# q: n+ C- n: K4 |7 I• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
$ P& y1 b) z4 f" L% u! Z* r, j; S2 T" XBi /Reporting/ETL
8 R4 ]" N& M: k' }! [  ?' w* \• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
5 x0 Y8 S3 A0 _3 R3 {( l- N• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
# }# t0 M. V) \5 o; B2 A4 {• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.

• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
% r; I5 w& `7 ~4 K. _1 c• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
$ v+ k2 c) t1 C, Q- N8 f. i' r• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

* X4 t+ V% k# \+ y, H/ [SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
, V# ?3 V* W; j9 S" y• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
. t$ `8 V* @7 I( m• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
* F+ _; U9 Z' g7 @' |8 N2 B• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
