As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
$ A0 Y1 H" N' U3 e* |( ?• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
5 I$ n# O, k2 y3 {. [: @Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
6 _- p& h* ]# P1 s& ?! m• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
0 O% g' v$ d. H4 `0 h• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
' j/ Z0 f, ?4 |' _! [• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
1 ]4 _: K1 @) r• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
. u- o- B/ R  @( s4 S# G, H• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
' S$ J' H* q6 K/ d• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
, i; {5 U* o" R( L. ~• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
1 p) C2 X: ], K+ z2 M/ w0 Y• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
5 x+ H' I( Z# g* ^3 u• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
( U; v2 ]' |( q8 D) D# p1 }9 _# c• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
3 ~1 P: v/ {3 E5 ]$ i• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
( i* E% F9 r' r. p1 h• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
2 n9 s2 s; N: a% z• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
' V! z% C. e$ k• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
