+ w3 F7 u" a+ ~) s( S! XAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
/ f4 V: A6 Z0 y• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
4 k3 s4 G' e* a% {* U• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
6 y4 [' m% G  e7 r2 A4 H• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
: |) O2 {( R* F0 P• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
2 S6 `8 s/ G; l2 d3 K2 {- N; b( B• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
+ ]( j9 s! ^) D; i• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
2 g1 {2 ]% F9 R. F• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
: _0 R# Z0 f; ?3 H2 A2 F: ?• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
8 M1 h: w3 S1 W9 |/ M2 {$ \( v& ~# Q- y• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
