1 Z# y) J& H5 i, a0 ]  Q6 \- M% Z/ iAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
$ q; b6 e) R9 l) I• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
* ]4 G3 L5 |8 v  }' OBi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
  r* E4 }* u$ z• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
+ i0 Q3 Z4 P+ ~5 p" t* ~• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
' N2 j, ]' m, M9 W- W& @* G+ I• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

: W9 _# d# |9 b* M  B) ZSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
$ i6 i5 g* @7 D1 K& c• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
8 B8 ^9 l2 h( T7 ^8 ~• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
$ C2 Y( e6 o; ]$ m& |• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
. v- l* Y( C% @- J$ i4 g3 |• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
1 `7 ]% R1 X$ H* c& K  ^• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
8 ?' b: d; H& b" w• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
9 O; a! Z5 W1 A" T; o• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
- q3 t" ?: s, I( q$ N+ Q+ k• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
