SALES CLERKS
Job Purpose
Every full or part time sales clerk is responsible for the proper and efficient
3 C4 J- w8 G/ @  ?operation of his or her shift, within company policy in such a manner as to ensure
: M) t& s8 l% m' Ithat the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store while serving
customers with exceptional customer service. All sales clerks report directly to
; O: f, }9 Z. H3 _9 {! `- \the Store Manager.
; @& k5 e( V$ A4 rDuties and Responsibilities
Customer Service
• Provide all customers with prompt and courteous service
( K5 O0 `* \* x* Z" I& m3 o• Assist customers find what they are looking for
2 R( B) w! \' I7 @, \• Receive and fill orders for clubs, restaurants, and hotels as required
• Make every effort to find merchandise for customers if an item is not in
2 f5 s3 f: F: sstock
• Screen for intoxication and check identification for any customer who
7 G5 w; i8 C% }; T; xlooks under 25 years of age
$ U6 F# D, O# O4 @Store Responsibilities
• Operate point of sale terminal to make sales and look up products
7 K. @. y; h; q/ u$ M• Stock shelves in accordance with company merchandising standards
- d9 |9 O( h5 p4 ?• Assist in receiving and storing merchandise
# K& v3 V: T. i! X• Keep the store, stockroom and restrooms clean
6 P' m! X& ]- t. Z• Help monitor inventory levels – item counts at tills and hourly counts
• Protect company assets at all times
• Close the store (key holders)
• Other tasks as assigned by Store or Assistant Manager
Qualifications
- N. N! y5 j+ I- X3 B1 O1 M/ c• High School graduate
• Criminal record check.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
+ P5 O1 Q' U) B5 s6 f• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and
7 i0 ?; D' C, S" t" D# @: k4 F2 g: a7 _changes in strategies
Working Conditions
4 M5 _* h' X) I9 B$ X0 o• Fast paced environment
• Demanding workload
Physical Requirements
• Available for shift work Sunday – Saturdays, days and evenings
• Able to safely lift boxes up to 50 pounds
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Comfortable climbing ladders
