Salary:         $40,462 - $56,410 per year, depending on education and experience.

Job Description:

Recruit Participants

-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
: m6 q/ _$ x1 v$ M9 d; H; ^-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities
( F. g2 }1 S( c0 o. W
. ~0 @9 p# L' wOrganize Leadership Training Sessions
-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
5 d) q6 E" ]5 p; B1 T-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas

Plan and Facilitate identified public events
1 s( ]7 V2 a$ g/ a: c5 e1 C-        with youth participants

Media coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

& Q  v4 x: M% Y+ l9 t& wNetworking
2 P! _  G! T1 c# J-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
5 V- m* O' G5 H8 a-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

+ N( s( F! }- a; ^; t8 G-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
' \1 c" F7 G' X( h! L" Y7 K/ |-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

" }3 T% f0 @: i* t  e+ r-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

% T/ l  J: y& g" S- E+ C-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
4 ]% L: h$ w* }1 l7 s0 J-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
& Y8 G0 \* y0 x" c% ~# y( R# B7 }-        experience with project coordination
-        degree or diploma in human services field
% _- }- H# [* Y) Z. X3 b-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
