the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 f5 u+ ^% C$ L9 p, i3 h
the Board of Directors; 4 N. S' r& _# y: {; d3 N) M; G4 J
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
. q9 M' {7 R+ Wincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 3 v7 K! P1 z8 P' q: e1 _) g( K
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ) U- t( T5 H8 r) w
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
V8 t' `& T5 n$ @3 K1 m" Fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

" o% f1 S9 \% o; x% Y( u ]8 | L7 o5 t• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 U* g1 Y3 \; |* @1 N
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 l+ |+ @7 N( G& z% s; @
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 V8 m% i& `4 n: X5 K4 p• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 5 p) H1 ]+ ]" z7 P2 y
commitments;
" R9 M/ O8 N! _. ?) w7 G2 @• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
9 b9 ~9 n# n& w1 Z% V- w• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
# e' Q! J4 ?# K3 U! Eselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 R( _. i, ]% u: R• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
4 D1 Z. V5 ~6 R+ s# i+ }• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ U7 u) c* `$ ?2 o: U- B
effectively and positively represent the association; ' ~, R- G' Z) @- ^
+ b; m" C: e ]5 N0 V, v• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) Q7 O \: ]2 }7 Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; # q# h) r9 `/ E; C
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. N, i" W# K* T# i0 zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + `% _: o( i% Z
the forthcoming year; ( a6 e4 H# [! j9 K
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 ^) M! [# }' s8 O4 c% J9 ^6 y
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( ^5 i# C) X e- p4 F4 h& T- N
YWCA Canada; and + e1 @' }: U) A& a* L/ t T
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 8 m3 [7 O1 W2 n6 u

/ G6 g* {. t1 n9 f" r$ H! K" r• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
% s0 S( h- A1 _4 X. {• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , F7 ]- I( C! c% t- b' n7 c
abilities;
8 Z9 n8 A1 H/ i• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, / t/ ^9 p8 r# \( k d3 x' r
Networking and Fundraising; 5 ~: b" h: a. j
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting & i0 M) n6 }& k8 U
