Responsibilities

1 m+ d! ?, x7 X! k: jReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include: 4 T2 _+ ?: _' N8 H, n: P
/ @$ Z" A& w" m$ t3 P! J• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
# p) l+ j( d% S" C( l L" Fthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( p# u" C% J4 S7 h/ othe Board of Directors;
6 \9 a( V2 f' [5 I• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 O( q `$ d- c* L
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 a6 I1 z6 o& a
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; * |1 T- X3 d) B/ @2 f
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' a' ~& N% O# K9 p/ m& uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
$ s1 O- c+ T) m2 R- \! _' athe board;
) C" ?2 ^) O$ ?" X6 O( K• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;

the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / q4 P# {9 \9 u$ B% y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
4 m: s6 O' L9 F! ?1 B( D8 kchanging needs of the organization and community; # y& ~. @ F% O* f/ ^3 I2 ~. T# H3 ]
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 7 q) l6 R( i) {8 ^& `
commitments;
4 ` h8 r! y P• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; d" b9 H) b3 C2 C3 Y3 v
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) K0 x' ] q- l% [, B [
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
' O8 T! }- s. X; G: I1 S5 a• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
G0 o* L" N9 m• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ) m6 {& w* H6 `, P. r6 g5 ~. c# l
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
3 P; y# t# C, b7 Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ L4 O: ?# t7 x! t2 @4 _• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 o# B" F# x4 U+ ^5 _# q* t5 ?
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
6 P* r8 k9 S0 I9 Upractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ B0 t; c% y. }2 E5 f+ c6 f" H7 R• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 7 N" v% S- L# P4 q0 `" T
3 E2 L& i/ W( ?) zRequired Experience
9 w* c( s7 P: r! U; H# {8 q% _• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
# e- f7 m$ M1 v' e• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 5 W5 ^$ m m7 N( X- ]8 ]
abilities;
- }: w& \" W3 v' \" R• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
