The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

5 k" G8 S" Z$ k3 VReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' u5 I$ E8 B4 n# dexecution of the YWCA Strategy , Y8 Z; R" d# G+ R

Specific responsibilities include:

! A' \+ K% j4 \; l• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 O y& j, o/ R. y; q* Z4 z" \) {: |
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 h! o7 P/ s4 W8 c1 @, q% G
the Board of Directors;
* ^, ^2 x! ?; s6 ?# {, y, q• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ; S% a, I$ }, z* B; T
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & Q5 |: R( z+ q" j: L
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
& \* r/ K- Q F! ~1 }• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
) R8 V8 }4 j. Q; H, iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by % e3 [" V& T) ^( o v; Z1 m
the board;
& c" T7 |3 H1 b, r; M P• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 d2 [- R3 R% U9 m• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ( v: b- C& g; N# d& O
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
8 {- i! C/ r: g/ z• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
8 i# j1 r# C K3 z# Schanging needs of the organization and community;

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; i/ P# N7 L; F' c" Z- F• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
4 P: c3 p( F9 L; B0 M- ^selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & w9 Z: J: ^4 ?& L' y0 v2 o9 r
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; $ |2 u' q# g3 l7 R2 }
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

7 i# }' y5 B$ w0 E' H0 p. u• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ I1 t$ h3 e% U; {, S7 o
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' j% D+ G" m. z0 H
the forthcoming year; . a* W0 M3 s5 F, X* N
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 A; j; ~; g6 h7 a
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( {$ D. k7 Z7 k1 S1 J3 @

Required Professional Designation / Certification
# P* a, I3 o5 S% x* ^5 i( k• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

; q+ p7 V( ?# y! F/ ^5 M$ M• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 k- \/ U# Z* R; f
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

, o6 C; K7 Q: V ~3 R• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 c) {9 Q+ d( |; W0 w7 ~9 h

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
