Position Summary:
& p8 Y- i, s7 V# m# R6 ]2 U, Z" \The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.: Z( X& O( b" a y

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers4 \! `& O E7 S; |4 p& p. s
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution . @& Z6 ]/ X. Y, ?7 y8 C* c* P( M
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation# q& D* S% k" |7 `
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times$ E3 _$ x& \: x
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk8 w" ]5 l d" t# o/ P' r
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience

§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
) P0 A3 V! |! R9 @+ m§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware4 F( L$ `0 ^5 F
§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
1 H3 Y. c6 x& z§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems) s& N7 f2 m0 Q/ U

- X) G1 s* n% ^+ ~: c- y% A9 h5 lThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives, W; x# d9 E) P3 v4 ~
§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports

4 P$ z5 a- o( q: F% O§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to2 l, y% u5 w- i
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times- T' J2 e; g( `; i
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access, ^$ }, r( G( \( R& n
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures( x. x0 s) m9 L" h7 z
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance

§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with IT related suppliers and service providers
