A Motor question

When open a motor connection box,
Beside three phase wires for the power,
We have another two wires marked as P1 and P2
What is that for(P1, P2)?
Most of the time, they are not used.

Good question!

I think the two leads P1 and P2 are for the thermal switch (mostly normal close), use multimeter to check out.

碰到过一次电机负载下不工作，就是因为其中一个端子没接好。

p1,p2 外端接入回路，其内部端有一个用于监测和控制其路由开断的热敏开关，英文叫 Thermal Switch.

很多电机都有过热保护，只是方式不同而已。

标明P1，P2的通常是过载保护。除此之外，根据电机的大小和工作环境还会有其他的保护和控制，比如齿轮油的压力，温度，压差（测齿轮油清洁程度的），齿轮温度，数组线圈绕组温度，外壳温度，空间加热器等；如果水下或靠近水源工作的还有轴承进水，电机进水等保护。如果是VFD控制还要注意地线接入VFD而不是其他接地点。还有，某些VFD上也有P1，P2 接头，但是此屁非彼屁， VFD上的P1·P2通常是接外接直流电感线圈用的。

Motor Heater 的接线端,通常电机在寒冷的地方工作,都会有一个轴承加热的,这样带有P1,P2的,会有另外一根2C #10或#12 的Motro Heater Cable 进入接线盒,仔细看看就知道了.

Usually, there is already overoad relay in control circuit. (engineers almost always do so). so P1 and P2 not used most of the time.
