No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.( f( c' b; n& W9 K1 ?7 I, m

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

Suncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.% H& l9 X( _8 w o/ R
