CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.9 d6 E" x' _7 L* Z r

No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage." s3 E+ P6 ?: l9 q

Suncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.! S! n. s/ I# i

According to Reuters, Suncor could not specify how much crude the unit was producing before the incident.
