Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
3 o. i5 p: u8 T7 m0 b  N2 EMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
, i' W( A5 c# x: p! ]Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
3 a# V% k5 G+ E' sParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
' L  Q2 n* V" W; A" |* o8 YQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
* o/ B8 y- D, J$ r6 y+ HComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
