Responsibilities:
; b, J! e+ G, `- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
1 _( r6 Q: p8 s7 q- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling3 N0 U# k! f. j
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
# U8 s" p. ?; V+ O# Y# ~- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" X. p6 d) \ X+ [# V! U8 U9 Q- b- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health3 { u" a8 I6 F+ k4 S: q
) j6 q% n1 U0 W% w1 R
1 e* ~" Q$ ^3 a- FKey Qualifications:
5 h k1 q* e# B2 R, [7 e% z- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
% S- o/ \* W3 H$ s& d$ R4 `- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement3 J x% L7 a( q K1 C
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others& p" M! _& {& Z2 ^5 A% r
- Experience doing program development
9 \# j% f* K" c3 ^7 m+ i: L- Strong organizational and coordination skills/ z$ ^9 e0 H- R' h% Q
- Self-directed and able to take initiative+ m' U" A8 B5 C, r& t0 }) J3 _
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
9 r; a& \9 H# |. }% m8 Q/ `- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license
