Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

3 W/ A! V2 T( @$ WResponsibilities:
# w) [* W* K$ ^& x  G-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
0 K/ X& ~; L/ T! m-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
6 S; M5 H. p* f3 W( T-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health


( q' F8 w' }3 M2 a& z  Z; n, zKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
* P" n7 `) S- l; c# O1 A-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
* A  q" \! ?" c  X& Q& n-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
' O, Q6 U& d5 M/ q) N8 j-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
% Q. G6 z4 H3 ?, F% P-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
: H  @" c, d8 Q6 E% W-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
! s" V- P( b; s& g! u-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
0 N4 l- C4 z& c. y- {* L, i! c7 n-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


, z* e/ c' A7 T0 M. e6 y& J- wOther: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
