Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.
Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found.


Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
# o4 h& }8 m5 H& Z$ U& p-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
$ e; u7 }# W! y0 H7 r-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
  F: o7 j9 X# X7 d: T% X-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
$ ~6 m7 T7 Q  t- v-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
0 O, n7 m5 ^" n; r  \+ M! I, W( D9 L-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
6 C5 ^6 t9 l/ q8 n/ h& O" s* s-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

+ @8 p- o! C1 |0 v-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
- J3 {5 |# t( n" X8 }: v-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
& D# E' L  Z+ R' \2 [8 H1 P-        Skills in marketing & promotions
& N3 }  s5 R% x- Q8 W-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
