Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
$ P( y7 e* o( d) w! |. R7 q1 y( t. Q. WTerms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
2 j( ]! Y* }) V# q1 Y-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
/ j9 }. n; w! h5 O- [* g* \  O8 F) {-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
1 d, G4 l& d+ x$ `-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
8 q7 ?1 R# ?  ~, B1 X-        Experience doing program development
# V- Z2 U0 |& _. ?8 l-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
' N: v# |, F: \" U1 R) i( I-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
; c1 E6 J8 H- n9 ~9 e; n-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
8 Y) |) K; k' K6 J( \+ M3 e1 u-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
