Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
% x0 _" h  e  `2 ~; e; i-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
/ K6 h6 j$ @. D1 T/ P! |-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
1 [$ S  B9 G0 {9 V0 m, u" e# L4 n-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
& A- k  E0 ]4 V; q* \1 ^-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

- R* W* V8 V( x* ~; F - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
$ t" F7 D: D& w% E: ~. v2 G6 v-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
, a! N- i! \+ s* U5 F" S-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
. ^+ m+ r# E5 B6 x1 g-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
) O8 N4 n! U2 h+ y# \" k; W+ M% j-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
