This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
1 h5 c; @ x- p5 NEligibility Criteria
6 r( u/ i4 F. S z* vAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
O6 t+ ?9 ~' U" G5 N4 r•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less/ E" S# W2 B9 u' d$ F( f
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education; N: Q3 A! [; m4 T; r2 Z. W: h
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
, r6 E. ~5 V- Q$ a( Q3 ^•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
6 E* q d7 Z7 b•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
X- U2 f; |1 c8 i# `•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less$ _. w( O4 u% V+ m8 n0 z
•Be eligible to work in Canada
( f' t/ J" l( R# b3 i. |•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop% K5 ~" i) o) v' x
•Lack access to professional networks

# p3 e3 z0 ~$ Y( o+ NThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.* V; s1 N; O5 m# J
