Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

. o3 X1 _# g, Q$ t, FCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.; H- Q9 J6 ^: N9 j! b, \

- n& ]! m3 r$ m• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

) _0 Z3 H; ~' ~/ E• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.

3 f: `- H2 N7 @; v: m3 U* F$ F: O• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.1 z% }6 F& T6 u6 @2 ]3 |& N, n

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.6 S" w$ Z" R5 A: T* z* H

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

3 k, S$ e& q1 l8 D6 b0 [• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

  T$ q' Z1 s7 i9 h! b• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

! z& F1 ~0 G* F. A" J# g• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.4 o: [" ^+ _. S, J" n* L

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting9 ~4 Z1 G5 q4 p& O8 x

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.2 |8 A5 g! j/ ]3 K8 ?- }

- \! K0 r9 }  B% K8 }$ {Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
