Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 4 I* _% x3 X- M w
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

$ l# n4 N% ]+ X5 ]; Z( u5 \$ ~/ DPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
$ N5 }' I! _4 g7 P, X% i0 ^· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
# Y( L& r F) ~2 m! R9 |" y& Y· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
& a2 k5 N9 M J4 b, ?with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
7 X; A" O; ?; \9 F& U3 j; \2 g6 Wadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
* `, M3 v8 a8 Q" {( n: h/ g: wset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 4 H( n) _/ k8 k% w' o. z
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination ! x$ a6 J$ o2 j Q. V9 b, A
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
/ X4 H5 y( H& J& \· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
8 h( Y+ @+ m, }1 Z$ A1 r* n· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
7 c; G1 X+ d! B) U$ X$ e) z, g· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers $ }% b) n8 Q# c( n5 a7 p
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ( F$ a- e# @5 B. O
· Complete program administration, statistics and records o: m. r2 i# f% D8 l3 ]/ d
) }/ y& r! a. K. G; S+ _6 fQualifications: 7 }& `1 l+ c- ?# _6 ?6 J
· Completion of 12th$ I6 B/ o" W4 O1 c& O: C! x/ U
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 3 G1 @. }3 a& o) C% k( i0 {; X1 C
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
6 R1 l$ G: \* R2 s- J* c% n· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct + c* V% H% H7 l6 ?+ D/ X
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 5 z$ z$ ~8 }' S( g1 ]2 U
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
; v$ V) G" X5 u$ K· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
0 Z7 K) V# ~7 N2 D. Q7 c6 u· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events - K+ p) f. T/ q6 }. ?9 h8 b v
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
