Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
) O7 ]- o2 I9 W9 c# _4 G& j· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
1 T: i) k# j- A# f· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
1 q7 x! y; N! x, h4 vwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 2 f$ h3 q* r% J* f/ y, Q
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
8 M# X4 f8 p/ ~" n/ Vset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ' d$ y% i, u1 p6 I4 v9 i
· Attend and manage Special Events 6 v$ F; u4 X% D9 y" N/ G) z
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
& S$ B8 P) F2 ^3 u· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
6 Q% N( d) S# ~( _· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers - c+ L# Z# _, V, k# A' o
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ; C. @; p( \8 n
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
3 z6 B0 K4 W# W0 o7 b( e! I9 u· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: ' ?: S! h3 l8 P7 S8 E4 P
· Completion of 12th0 E @+ ?2 A Y* O, Y
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation - H( ]. ]$ A3 V( B6 P& b5 h
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. : n x" ^. {; x
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
8 v+ I0 m; D, R; Gexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ; a7 w' ?2 |. P: m) \$ i
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ( d5 ]6 P9 c. j1 N+ X$ W0 M
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
5 B; c, V2 L1 ~3 k+ g( f& z" G· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
- S4 e. _- u# m6 T E· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
) n- N v- e# g3 t, b1 K( {· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work ! X; b6 u2 P' t- \9 D

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
