Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

V5 ]7 O+ W# B- KPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
) R- F0 S6 l# U7 ~: |5 Q7 d· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
0 v% z. [ o/ L9 f4 P· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 5 B. @/ R* S2 Y; U/ b
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
- Q# y- }# G6 ?* D2 E: Qadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
. D. T7 [( y F+ m% L3 q% `set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

: W" ?, [2 b: {4 s8 ^# Z M4 ~: nAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
) }8 c+ K1 u5 c0 H· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
. H2 z. }) h s+ B. d6 T# x9 n4 C+ l· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
- V6 y4 Y4 a; }& T! n* n: _; f1 f· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
) Z3 T/ m9 R/ {% }) s8 A3 y· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 7 t& p- p' r5 V/ k0 t4 w
· Complete program administration, statistics and records + f4 p' }, t' {6 e( c( b
& \6 F2 U( b j3 F8 t
Qualifications: 5 e9 C1 ~+ i; F8 C
· Completion of 12th7 c- z' z3 p! g; t/ x0 ~! f4 b" o2 P
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ! b4 @; r2 y' y6 }6 m" G# r
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 3 h6 K N Y) K- X
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct : |% m; q( }: ` |" M, X3 w; X8 J: T9 p
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
/ @2 ^9 L0 B) J8 K- ~$ s· Experience working with and managing volunteers . K( Z' |' K$ F2 c9 }+ D
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 5 R: b l1 J f
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
% k- }2 {" x: r4 w9 |) R# }· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 9 M3 k0 l% a% b

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
