Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
5 P; V5 C7 g1 {, o% S1 jPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 2 m: W# Z M l0 S0 O
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee , _4 W- B6 [$ ^1 s$ k
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
# u( f8 g% B. O# {/ cwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 3 D3 [* b3 J* P$ J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure % I6 g! M8 f2 f0 d; P S
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
; I0 d$ g6 G& `4 R% U, `Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 7 `1 R4 _0 V/ h
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ! @# E/ R$ f5 |& B' [1 f
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
5 c( M+ k# U T; K8 |! l' H· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 4 y1 V8 Y S6 A
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers : t# s1 o, R4 e# K
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

8 K% n9 z- l' _Qualifications:
9 w0 d0 [" {$ C8 f' R( Z4 _5 ^· Completion of 12th. a8 f( R$ C2 F* q
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
8 i/ J! C' T. Y7 u* T5 _8 UAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
9 t; T9 n. i+ w# r( x5 ]8 p) V8 E6 _· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
0 S1 a7 x- v3 E" r$ r) q* eexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events " X7 M; H8 x: G2 V
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ( u& y8 ?0 q2 v& p; ]; W) E
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
; ^0 k% n# F5 K· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
: ]5 r6 }8 F4 v5 |# D· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ' K8 ?8 N# Z* d
· Security Clearance / R2 J/ j# |: E' L$ y+ ]

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
