* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory; `9 J& d, c. Y$ _( X! Z
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
) b4 Q. j9 p/ |! y4 Z$ U) i, S * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
9 b: v/ W* T- h1 [& S( ~ * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations+ ?/ w9 _7 C. W, R7 Y0 C
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications
" W; ]/ d9 [$ [& U7 {6 U4 P7 g' @- D3 ^2 R
* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
! o( t {6 ?4 e3 h * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation! k- e0 r) p& B- `
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers* l8 O& l: m; X* }6 z. Z. _$ P
* WHMIS training
4 w% V( l8 `6 r ~ * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset/ V- j4 k1 P" s
