* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
+ V0 ^9 L6 ^, b * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
) T" J0 X6 U% Z8 r) e8 I8 M * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps% V! N. |5 C! H
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations. f3 C2 e; |$ h) |/ r- K
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations) `0 P, ^' N' W$ V4 A9 }

Qualifications
8 D5 t# p# j- D6 f, {
% s9 h: j ]+ t4 x- k) u1 W+ Z * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
% X6 t8 C1 S3 h" |: c' K * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
+ Q. e) O1 O. `) w* z * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers9 k" l! ~5 C$ ^# i$ u+ b
* WHMIS training
5 s' }+ d* _, L% K) G5 S' v$ G * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset8 Q2 T5 g& j- s; V, ?3 t
