: f9 K, Z5 j: t- f& L, y% m * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
& {) [5 U: a' n l1 [) T! X * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr6 P& S0 Q' a5 y) K% H+ T
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps# v( H- h% r, X4 L
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
7 D1 ]+ a1 p) B( n1 o * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications2 v6 E4 G3 H% C5 Y+ Z+ g7 t
& C. ^8 k2 c ?2 x( w' d/ H * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred* V+ t9 e, X, P: h E
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
+ I. r; _1 j# P3 M4 F * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers8 j6 R9 @; b9 x8 j2 q9 y+ f( \4 B
* WHMIS training
& f7 b; k& p6 Z& A; @' i" f7 E * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
