请教:如何选购奶酪和牛油

超市里有许多品牌的奶酪和牛油,请问如何选购?怎样吃比较好?

说说英文名吧,奶酪是不是cheese?如果是的话,有几种吃法一是cheese片,做三明治时,夹在面包里吃,有一种是细条状的,可作比萨,还有一种是粉状的可把它加些开水煮成糊状然后浇在烤好的土豆上,也可把cheese粉散在煮熟的意大利通心粉上吃。还有一种小孩喜欢吃的(不到)20公分长的cheese棒,一包里有很多根,就当零食吃。如果你买回的是立方体或长方体的话,就自己动手切成需要的形状,好象有专门的工具卖,其实中国人聪明,就用菜刀也能解决问题。至于黄色与白色的区别我不太清楚。请其他同学补充。! q3 s  B) U: q: U8 b* O& p

7 ~7 {3 V  s+ a2 j9 l0 Z8 S你说牛油是哪一种呀,在国内用于起火锅底料。这里是不是butter?如果是的话,分两种,一种叫butter(块状),一种叫margarine(塑料碗装的)就是人造黄油。在洋人的食谱里常用到,至于中国用法,据说butter可以用来作馒头,成为奶油馒头,margarine嘛,烤面包时用,可用面包机烤好切片面包后,再直接涂上,也可涂上后,用烤箱烤几钟。后者好象更好吃些,小心发胖!!( }3 z6 T2 A$ f5 E& E) R8 V; c" w
  n9 X$ U+ |! N3 q5 R& n9 `% G
至于选什么牌子,我的经验是凭主妇的直觉。

There are many kinds of cheese( check the link) for different purposes but most Chinese can only handle a few of them:
8 `( w% ~9 c; `1 L' x* t! O2 ^7 R- b! r4 F3 s2 F
Cheddar or American cheese (yellow or white): for code sandwich, cubed small chunk of snack, burger or cheesy casserole (baking), the color doesn’t decide the flavor. The cover of the cheese should say: sharp; mild, which refer to the degree of the flavor.
' C; Q1 ^7 w/ c9 U2 Z4 R7 x: f2 k6 g" c
Mozzarella cheese (white, no yellow color): for pizza or Italian cooking# _$ F. y4 k+ Z5 l# W9 q
8 G5 _" D$ Y. `0 N& T
(Those are the cheese I can handle but many others I tried but no way to enjoy,  like the following: )& \4 K7 _! F& F2 }- k

! I2 Y2 r( F* l: \7 V7 wSwiss cheese (white, with holes): mostly for hot sandwich
4 T) j8 M; F; D, p: D  e/ x; \3 o/ E
% ^5 b! z, R* y& ]7 ^Parmesan cheese (almost like powder): on top of dishes, mostly pasta.

Butter is a lot simpler:- c9 b' R2 K# D4 r

  y0 B" }7 \% b, E$ O( j. {Butter stick (regular or light): 1. for cooking (just like the oil we use) or baking (e.g. bread, cake, or casserole), 2. you can also use it for bread spread
' }# |" n' ~9 H6 IMargarine( soft butter): mainly or spread, on bread, corn… 7 `, M8 L- c* j1 q

; U7 p' a, G: `/ j1 K% ]) xCream cheese: also for spread, mostly on bagels; sometimes used for some bakery too
