Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
9 G7 p) d/ v% \0 l3 eskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
, ]# F( \) j1 i( `: dprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work) z2 l" {: C# ~2 |8 u' O
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as( X- a9 L0 b2 {! c0 C* x
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food' z% b5 t/ l/ B# t- c7 \
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
6 L1 l- M4 ]2 z. g5 M; p# i9 W4 j9 z+ `) d5 q& @, f% @' a D
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian+ g: T2 ?% m3 m i. J
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
5 A! f6 l. y( \* English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
5 @+ t5 p) z: K+ \8 e* Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
6 |5 M4 l, Z6 s% _1 Hsecondary education
9 m7 Z |- O4 g! u9 r X* A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand, w; N: @) Z' U, Z" o
occupation
& Z' w* {5 c7 P8 D4 L* V% f( @. ^* Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed

* Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

* Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates& n) L6 U6 W" e; r& L
* Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
