Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

1 J4 G7 v4 f) t( M& N6 u(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
$ A; q( I2 l, _•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
% Q% [+ S5 e/ }+ G4 N& m+ I•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
6 p% m* A" x2 L# f•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

" k) `0 E: x; u5 H  \9 e/ }; X•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
