Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 3 y6 y# V2 ~2 p1 P5 e" l, {

Activity Planning and Daily Activity& W) F3 @. R# @! F+ J( ^7 i
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
( K% ]; Y: a3 o• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
4 ~- h# |* \9 n- F# s U• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, . K+ k0 Y2 a. s* m( ?
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
9 m/ O1 s& \5 Z4 T1 P! f% n• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.- @) C* w! w9 q2 R! g
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.# w* \& Y/ y8 b( ^

The successful candidate will have:
3 ~+ d3 F- ^) |: _5 K9 v: C• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting+ S7 r H- M5 ]% w
• Experience with children
5 z4 [. j; }5 [. ^8 q• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
P! L9 | p f+ u" N• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring. h! q- j0 c/ f% ~5 v+ U& E
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
) y# G5 s& ^- r, J% t/ Y• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources1 w: G5 [2 @" V5 V+ ~( M) I
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
0 }: F$ I# ?! D D• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
