Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:$ N1 f2 G1 r. N, z, m- K
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
$ A; q( I2 l, _• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership." u- a& G2 W; C7 i, h" g* l# K
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. , N Q# N3 w) n
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 0 Y/ t7 O7 ^; q1 P# b$ _
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.+ t+ j" n- Q% j' n; |. \
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.0 E- N7 E6 L1 |5 P6 Q1 a7 ^+ I
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have: i5 ~4 I7 N# w8 |# _3 u
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting+ M; ~4 T: f4 B8 k, ]
• Experience with children
% Q% [+ S5 e/ }+ G4 N& m+ I• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth - _3 n% ~- P; _# k2 @3 @; l% G' ^
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
6 p% m* A" x2 L# f• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.+ j3 y+ p. V% C& r% T# d
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
' e+ j* A' l }7 m8 g$ c0 H• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
" k) `0 E: x; u5 H \9 e/ }; X• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
