' v# a6 ^9 D5 l; Y+ y2 F) RBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

- Y+ ~& R- B3 V$ |& VKey Responsibilities Include:
& Y& k$ F6 V# o8 [Activity Planning and Daily Activity
! p4 E& e  k) b5 q; A•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
2 t, w4 w: n; T1 s0 g  c•        Experience with children
3 Z. u6 D/ N1 [& X) o•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
" P, H( _" \) O+ R' l: X* G5 l- L  Z% ]•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
4 n% `1 D& s3 T- l5 `•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
, ]# Z* _$ ~  ]•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
, G* U2 U9 t5 j' G/ F4 g- j•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
) B( ~9 k- J, S" Z7 p, E8 F0 a
In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
