Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
+ h, y9 S. W, J. g# [" Z; {•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
6 z( U* k/ M; Q5 y% B) {- D•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
' {7 u$ `  W+ s; l' r- R2 n•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

/ `# A6 }% @7 x/ ~( DThe successful candidate will have:
$ c- K8 e! x" ~2 D5 V5 {•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
$ O2 j2 ~9 a+ B5 R4 e# O•        Experience with children
  c" ^4 }' q5 Z•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
1 }0 d0 T9 e! [9 R# ~•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
/ g/ L0 y7 `$ o, A% Y! J1 Q•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
