Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)5 U$ c, G' p3 Y5 ?" v/ ]' k# |
- q) w7 \5 ?/ w# [Key Responsibilities Include:
9 s3 j) Z7 | ]; c, A# lActivity Planning and Daily Activity7 j" N5 Z# i* {, ]
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
2 ?" l/ g1 S5 V2 z" h• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
$ b- [ W3 h. G• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
6 X1 ?2 [) A- a5 P( x• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.' m1 `" P" E4 d: w' d; V
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
$ `3 }4 e4 w1 L9 m) L! z• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:; J5 k( G9 _' F- q: A3 y
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
- }( _. G2 q/ E• Experience with children
6 A8 J! q3 B* ~1 N4 @' [• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 5 e* h. s1 \2 w" z# y# o+ y
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring., ~. j2 B6 a% F4 @' G
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented./ b9 ~% D8 m0 k5 w9 }% O4 ^# M9 S
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
* A, t( H: c* b% Q& u• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
0 O* Y, s8 O' W4 d# U# B• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 0 T( c# \( J9 p0 B% D
