5 s% i+ p. S3 _# @" r7 v7 ^Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

Key Responsibilities Include
* q/ A- J+ o8 j `7 cActivity Planning and Daily Activity
& T( E! }6 e$ u$ {7 `• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
9 L& h7 _9 A1 J& M% X+ y6 y• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
* S. }* A. p5 y• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; Y9 d' g5 q) q7 E0 _& l9 W• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.$ N5 M/ E) o- x. m0 D
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
$ N; y1 N& S; b4 s, l4 ~• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.2 |+ b# t! t' t+ G) f

The successful candidate will have:
$ c D& Z } Q$ g2 f• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 Z5 y9 u# \/ `: ^/ q
• Experience with children$ x4 O7 J6 ?7 G4 U$ [
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
" Q# f/ Y& ]5 X% o: H5 T' `" `! P) o• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
4 k% Y6 F! B/ n3 S9 N• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
5 H8 N" h# X% J* }• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources; b _% B& K6 _3 R0 y7 }) V
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
# O& P' L3 _5 j( X- {• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
