Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students 9 Q& C; o* [' w
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)! z' m: t: O+ I7 d" a. r

Activity Planning and Daily Activity& U! B' O+ P5 y0 [2 l! `+ r
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
% t* B/ L( f! X& ~• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ; W# o0 q4 l7 q2 f. D
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
8 v+ l2 a$ t% {: ?• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
$ I7 l7 A) X* p( a. {• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.2 ~9 @# c) O! W& S* J
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.7 A! @8 g0 D3 p! O3 k: `" k
8 {4 e R5 {# l! yThe successful candidate will have:
$ J9 _7 b% a/ L2 U5 o• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
/ I* {$ {, D: u$ d/ b0 @* U; `6 }• Experience with children& |" q/ `! U$ M* ?, Q6 ~
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
9 C* |/ d7 J4 {2 U Y• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
6 Q- Q# B! @5 h• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
