' m+ l/ j: A! CBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

* f: K) s; h( z( a3 A7 E2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
9 O+ B9 k" ~; q# W3 U' i•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
# u- K( ~1 l3 K•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 X6 l* t$ d6 H6 Z•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
: u7 g5 Z! b+ }5 A8 H6 f' W•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
+ w4 d( n! j7 z•        Experience with children
% G# V# p- B" D; h; |( l6 @! P•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
  Q" |7 v6 E! O6 ], {, i8 \! j$ V•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
8 H9 t  \2 W% a1 t* V•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
