FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
! m; w9 i8 A4 K1 g7 hsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
7 x* f8 Q2 x4 z' \) ~3 Csupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( `' v) \% G& G% x9 \
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 T7 K: J. W0 g' e: K0 E
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 y' f7 G/ X9 u$ f& s4 {
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and " x! @5 j: W" Q% p4 X# R
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # ?( |$ \4 I9 _6 D5 C

# x- Q0 Z/ j" E, e7 fJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
2 {8 H+ q7 w6 j# ~1 W3 G- EFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as & T4 p/ {( X9 A8 m" E
well as the script, magazine and book library.

+ q# V7 L+ Z4 P0 h6 a- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library N' |) u, n8 h
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- L6 P4 P; k1 D* h- Implement a catalogue template for future use - q; v7 W+ A. A
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
, T/ L/ L- f7 [( i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 5 Y* E: T! h3 I D
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& a/ u! g+ y* Q$ w9 O4 |, g- Strong organizational skills , g% G& m, }% y( n5 C1 w
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred . k, X7 v2 n9 l3 }2 D6 h! g
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 k- c8 J1 n4 s; V& A
- Strong team player abilities 5 f& |5 \( q/ [% s- f( _* V
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
