# ]' `7 H5 j7 ]3 @" l9 R) YFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- s4 J" H8 M5 Osummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

3 H+ x! w: a8 R3 Z- @3 `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! }+ @% p2 T0 I0 I& T2 ]% Semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& j$ h0 k& g0 O" e* Z! hresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
6 Q  z2 d* R1 s5 _* }5 |9 ]screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
) q) k4 s0 _# f# A1 c/ C& AAlberta.

3 G# }, L  \! O4 s0 D! QJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( l1 A' ^* B0 P- o0 @6 k; Y- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 S+ f/ P' v0 i# g  n+ S. D6 S( G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
0 Z7 `8 h( F* Y7 i7 u(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
) L) e4 {8 h. K1 z* [3 xsecondary training, university preferred
9 E0 E0 c  `( a/ p- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
* y& A5 w, K! g- V, m' {- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
& Z( X6 D  g/ J1 ]- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
