FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - L9 ?0 d3 ]- y0 ]% V, j" I
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 j0 W# z; \+ a
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 j9 J% n4 ?# e1 m) Aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
1 R! k3 c* Y# q- }; u* U. iFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 L, V# D4 |/ [2 q/ y2 i6 Fwell as the script, magazine and book library. ; {& P4 d: ]& Y: e V+ s$ ?

7 m! W4 J" A: O( D% w% F p+ {/ o; S- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library , z. ~! M/ p5 h, d* a+ q! ^
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- r R- p$ L# ~& z: j) T ~- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 Q9 v- R) Y1 ~- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-6 ~. j7 \$ h% o
secondary training, university preferred , @6 P6 W8 Z1 c; ^7 E0 F
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

0 j5 g a% g# A( |3 hQualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 6 v1 e4 y8 W* I; S& q! ^( o
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) C$ K8 @% A. u- d7 i- Strong organizational skills
$ E" `! m( \* k/ s) \2 q7 @2 \" Z8 E- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ; G/ o! [1 b+ U4 @
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
