FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
3 h& Y+ x8 o! @" esummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 2 E+ J( _- _( j; p
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ `* d+ s# v' _; d) J/ IAlberta. 1 l, q* F4 Q U8 u ~( S; d. k

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 a- I; B! _& |7 }% _ |9 K- xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - v. b: [/ A, G' |: \0 H, v
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( Z& C+ ^& C1 ]; |+ c/ iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% T) q% S. F9 Q* F: H1 e, |screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
+ d" U/ Z# ]' g. }3 r) }3 l' G- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - j- p Y6 F- k) Y: m; m [$ w
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books q/ D/ L8 N8 @
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
: @0 c, w1 `2 D: `% U' A$ R! Q1 ]- B- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure " _# n0 h/ h$ z* g [
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Strong organizational skills
4 M8 ^ q! y7 f- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; n4 r- W/ Y( j* L( h" y% O9 A- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
