FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
$ ]6 d9 J: {# q! {* W# esummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
  C/ u* c3 _' ~' ~# p! Q0 X9 ^support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

3 w- K( k7 Q5 u# G* DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
' E2 `4 I" f. ]4 f# X1 Yand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% a4 R7 l3 u3 u$ H4 ?resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
" f1 H$ Z, e* |) fFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' v1 f/ F- h# ?4 H: r5 n9 {- ?well as the script, magazine and book library.

/ q1 s+ @! \6 ~( ]- ~5 y* v$ t* JDuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
" {- t9 f* k$ _7 U- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

(STEP)

  y: f8 o2 v8 D0 e: b6 R- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
* e6 h: b6 v& e  r- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
* }% H6 w2 l8 u6 g/ c' f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
! F; n$ U9 A9 E$ `1 x- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
$ ?& G9 u- d; V  v1 d- l8 M/ z- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
