FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization # ]5 w5 A; Y- F% q8 h& {2 I8 R
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 2 \% e9 P9 Z' v! U
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 t( \" g G* w# V
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ ~8 }" d8 b4 h, }9 j- F5 v9 ~8 xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
* W6 t) P# x Q0 lassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

& `& ^. b9 o6 f- Assist with research on acquisition grants - W' V2 x: C* e: v
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 N( f' }/ t$ C- Assist with equipment maintenance
; [ L5 _- Z) ^9 {! T F1 y( ~- Assist with production logistics for programming events + {5 z6 _4 `2 X. W; n# k/ J0 N) p2 z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ z' w3 Z+ s z' E9 ]' D7 x- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 9 y, w: _* O' ]- G/ {$ A' ~
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts % C) x; F4 L( k9 {, T8 z5 b. t0 }% K
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 4 a) _2 ^6 F7 k) g, U, Y
- Advance organizational and research skills 5 c3 ]2 H5 x A, X/ p6 R
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
