2 G) b, U. n) KFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
5 ?7 V: v4 d4 H3 G3 X: owhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

/ s$ ]- a: x2 g# p% J* `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
/ N% M7 E; |- G7 F! Z+ X- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
+ g& x$ ?- S6 X- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
. M. b4 n% W3 b9 M- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

Program (STEP)
2 G5 Y3 Z' q8 H! Q7 X- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 M) k, I( N9 E& e( m- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
1 J1 |" A0 s# g- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
8 }0 W1 L7 t2 O7 j6 t$ Y& r- Advance organizational and research skills
9 T1 r6 L$ f4 D- g* m. e. O- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- Strong team player abilities
3 J  k+ F' C/ L! i, U. Y7 Q+ P% r- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
