FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 7 |' c& d `, ^ w( g0 R H* K
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
! P: `% m8 b" x4 K: M4 |7 Y6 Partists from Northern Alberta.

resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 0 O! Y: N, U: Y! M8 Z

$ f) q8 G1 Z G' E8 L2 c% vJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive " F- {- x% x2 |/ H! }
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by q, M8 E1 }* V
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
( {9 K, Z; t9 J6 K% l- c- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 D5 \& m2 X5 F5 p7 R- Assist with equipment maintenance ' A+ l: D0 q Z/ @
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
3 J2 ~' I( D* O% D- j) f- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

secondary training * h% M, A( n8 N. A& c6 U
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week & }' i6 M$ U5 d+ J
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # e! t* |5 p4 \4 o
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
" w; X" ~' Z& t# H9 ^, U; i3 W- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
0 L% z6 \3 g0 y I! D3 Z" F$ w0 f- Advance organizational and research skills
# ?2 u4 H, v. E8 q7 Z- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD " \7 j; o4 d$ z8 q' G4 ~
- Strong team player abilities 8 C: @5 T1 C- b$ U- F, C; C
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
