! i- G; d5 P4 L8 y; nFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
! a& c O' {! E9 Hwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ' G# O& L( ] ?
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

7 V/ `" k# J" P7 }, Cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a % ]3 `, i+ O+ ^1 T' j
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
7 s: Q* {+ J$ nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 8 e3 k1 o( Y$ I, T/ x6 S
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) r" H: d- E' y5 b- W
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 3 K* q. {. ?. \% k
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. & V% z# J8 P; Y9 l7 ]
& U/ e# d W, E0 {* Z6 ^
Duties:
9 j, @/ p* d6 P4 s5 J* S- Assist with research on acquisition grants 6 K h! E. P L- y c i
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
" g6 ?: Y. _3 m+ T6 B) C- Assist with equipment maintenance
$ p& g$ c% t% h' ^7 v" N- Assist with production logistics for programming events
% @" R: X* _! p: p/ O0 Q* V- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! s/ U8 T4 M; r- u; m
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 B5 S6 E' G' w! N$ _+ S `
- Provide vacation relief

secondary training
' S% Q- P$ H7 ~$ ~- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance organizational and research skills
