Position title: Community Development Worker
6 }* A% B; F' N5 i) nTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
6 I  l/ Q$ f9 }$ ?1 k/ I1 }-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
6 k2 @5 g- W) e) y$ n9 u& V2 t7 \$ G3 a-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
! K3 ?* l: C6 r1 m2 L+ C-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
. U/ s% A# x" d0 ^' x- c5 i( r-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
& X) e5 Z+ k* o9 s+ h, d-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
