Position title: Community Development Worker

* e, c! ?% j9 {$ P! R& x- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
# @# W% v/ T# k1 i provide services for Chinese community

access to mainstream services2 |: V$ f3 m% e/ W4 }' x2 R; z6 u
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
; C% m( T' }1 l) ~8 J6 A' X; c { social services4 F* q6 c. a8 b
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies2 W8 E; a+ ?) ]% L$ v" A( V
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members$ @7 M/ A# P0 v5 \9 h( S7 o5 O
- update ASSIST website
) v2 u3 E0 [, S% A! m& Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
B- O- L0 Z1 e( h% n; f- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services* x) C7 t, A; f
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
, s5 \, f! p5 h7 X- update membership database' t8 G9 ?1 z5 L( X' D5 F
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications: @! h- S; L X* F" g' g
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
7 r- w) l$ W8 g" {- r! [7 F" C experience and education + ?" i7 w$ e( _; l) r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- H, l5 | Z- r6 p0 x- experience in community work and immigrant services' u5 @8 A6 S8 J! }" x7 {& ]6 R3 r
- experience in website update/design0 L5 \4 U3 W5 f; Z
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset/ y- J' G" b1 g% ~8 ?" \3 Y2 j
