Position title: Community Development Worker
! a" @; Y$ x+ r8 Z2 F% VTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

* e, c! ?% j9 {$ P! R& x-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
# @# W% v/ T# k1 i        provide services for Chinese community
( V2 g- T4 r6 \" x) Q3 t! K6 W-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
; C% m( T' }1 l) ~8 J6 A' X; c  {        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
) v2 u3 E0 [, S% A! m& Y-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
  B- O- L0 Z1 e( h% n; f-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
, s5 \, f! p5 h7 X-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
7 r- w) l$ W8 g" {- r! [7 F" C        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- H, l5 |  Z- r6 p0 x-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
