Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description

provide services for Chinese community* @5 O& l9 U6 C; }7 K; S" e' m
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 2 e/ T% @; k; Q4 @ q# t" A7 E
access to mainstream services' u- X$ |, f. p# A( i; Q2 p
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
! F: U. B7 a( I. C$ k social services
) @* C4 N+ x3 @* p- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies; r( u9 }" l( R/ P/ V7 s. y
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
0 b4 i7 b0 J0 ^- update ASSIST website2 v4 e$ r; }. N
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre8 i0 Z0 _9 o) a) _) Q0 E
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

Qualifications
) I) W8 g# l3 I/ W; h: p2 ^: l- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of . V+ I; g! ?. V1 o/ k( z& C* l" ^
experience and education ( F# L! v- ]1 r4 q
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* k7 O9 _0 z2 L% \
- experience in community work and immigrant services- W% Z1 i, L3 M$ E$ Q
- experience in website update/design) r$ c" V* e" P/ S* d% g
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
