Duties! F. ~* y1 W+ M3 i$ s
" J3 b' C0 b k9 q& y" L, ]$ Q0 R * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
}' G# o) m5 z4 o/ O! s * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis7 O9 L" O8 c I- [
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
1 Y" `+ O; l- b9 ]7 _ * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students * H: {; X6 L8 f
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies- t3 V; Z) j1 a
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
