Duties. [7 Q' t9 z0 o' @* ?% g
# B. W+ Z# L0 G; r * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications* T# O1 q% D8 i5 g
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis8 _# l+ C+ D) |" o
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance( [6 w' L8 x) {3 B; q; F
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 9 t5 x0 V1 f/ u9 s& k/ b) \" w
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required( T+ y8 b0 T# P
