$ J2 o' F- `! R& Z- V" @ * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications" O* u2 L8 \7 C' @4 |/ k, h
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
" E0 j" S x4 }3 T7 _ * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
8 Q+ @! k# L4 n& h$ e7 l. o' Q * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
# P0 U" Y5 ?& ^$ z: e * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies+ z; f5 y6 q" |" ^$ V
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
; s" j e; H ~& B d" ~ * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
