* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
7 h( v( x9 `( n3 f: `. A% p * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
$ B) D4 N+ r4 u/ {$ Y * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance5 S6 \7 \ r; F+ x9 }
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students $ z& ~5 n7 P% W
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies4 E J- D5 P7 C7 @ M
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
" c& N! z6 n6 y. Z& j2 n& ~6 D- `7 y5 u * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
