A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)7 O) m$ r7 x( d, [) q
• Standard Child Care First Aid9 p' s8 P, D. I' x+ Z' M
• WHMIS* T2 |, m* v& [. z; e. }
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care. S8 ]3 v7 m! D- X; D( l' Y- u; e
• Components to improve communication skills. L( F; K' f: J& U: ]$ p' i4 p
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search" t. {' W8 ?6 ]4 C6 @8 a. {
• Practicum Placements

) c0 H" K+ @8 g; M" ~0 h( H, ~: Y• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen1 i/ e' _. z# A+ L5 K% y
of Canada+ G! c8 Z7 A# \
• have a Social Insurance Number& u9 C7 o$ V, M
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
% K. ~+ J+ Q) @+ m• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent, M: F6 x5 n& H4 y- f: e4 A
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
/ C- V' w* d2 _7 R! @. Mprogram
( {) _ t, @+ TParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
" V9 u# g. l. F1 {) i2 xthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
$ ?3 s2 L3 C6 H• be unemployed or underemployed.$ B: s* H7 E" ]0 Q* G
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course- F8 n* L% e3 H5 a1 W* C+ J4 f
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
