A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.6 k: a5 J- d) F8 F" k. U0 O
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
2 W$ a$ ~6 ^" ~" Xknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 N+ X) i" f" B+ H3 B9 g9 W8 f+ h
The program includes the following elements:% N u5 A: q* c) W
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
' I% G) H$ m7 X2 e• Standard Child Care First Aid
* [7 R6 Q% z) j) i. ^/ y• WHMIS# d6 N7 o6 \$ {( k
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care9 a6 r2 z2 e E- z8 d
• Components to improve communication skills
+ s: l7 n4 m5 l# `: V# H4 N• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search$ F: i6 T3 K5 c) K
• Practicum Placements# W9 V- W D; s3 e9 E
Eligibility Criteria7 m) p1 j4 X4 l7 v; ?/ A
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
' n) x; I+ n; G5 I( e. a( wof Canada
! I' H7 d; z. e( @9 ? A4 l/ f5 M• have a Social Insurance Number' k* k. N/ I; E- _' g
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check4 B9 X* O% A. h; a
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent7 O! y5 k1 i/ p! v' j
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
/ h* {, [! a% H6 H! zthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course$ `& P" E; d8 z8 {
