A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:; ]9 a l- v7 r3 R$ j
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
. B" x3 ]/ p. P& ?+ o4 W• Standard Child Care First Aid
- U6 Z* x& I# P/ }4 m• WHMIS
$ L% a; y% Y7 B/ K0 E• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care5 S% m, P0 \# n) [+ M: o
• Components to improve communication skills( [, u% {0 w! R! C, \! q# D; |
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen+ [ Z; G2 v$ o/ Z+ J
of Canada
# K6 [, z: l) @• have a Social Insurance Number
2 u/ G E6 @5 H• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
. g% A1 h2 D0 J6 @4 O- g• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent# k+ \1 R+ [: |
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet/ Q% e9 M$ \: f9 D1 u
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:- Y! \: P/ A+ ]# X; e$ t
• be unemployed or underemployed./ b- u, ]$ y, X& E q3 |, A! S
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
