A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.. b3 p' U: x: U( u% e$ S
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and' U1 c) f# `* a$ D
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
. \4 e% J5 z& [The program includes the following elements:
4 V! }" [3 S! [: H( W f* \• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
4 G6 U3 }: a$ K% o5 f$ @/ S$ O• Standard Child Care First Aid
9 P2 g. O2 p! ]2 n8 f7 T• WHMIS
6 W( t' b0 @) I8 X. j• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
. c* n9 \8 A0 w% y0 L• Components to improve communication skills$ V% g$ B' F# d3 o, N' Q# h2 N
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search+ @+ C X/ {6 Y( [1 {9 L8 y
• Practicum Placements, |& R! \( _+ j" P9 X8 Y5 l+ _" P
Eligibility Criteria5 u( R2 {. s2 t7 ^0 x
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen4 y/ G& c. t5 d4 W$ `% `$ E
of Canada1 F/ E F$ v# ^/ t3 q
• have a Social Insurance Number6 b! }) V: {6 @$ J' J7 j- ^
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check2 T/ A- Y; R4 _! a
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent" E$ S9 q" [5 I+ E. D
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

* d( V! s; @; K5 v% N8 ]. @" rthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course$ s) t# P8 B A4 d5 M
