A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.7 I7 Z5 K. t$ n% F" ?
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and5 I2 n7 ^ Y+ A4 K
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.2 [& i& K# H: m8 u5 K" p. j5 d
The program includes the following elements: U. O3 G4 G4 B, K0 @- I8 B
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)% \' ?$ @1 S7 T# n' L
• Standard Child Care First Aid
( g6 P0 J" k9 i0 u. S/ w1 F• WHMIS' @. z; A$ B+ }6 x/ l1 Y
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
6 @5 s3 M( b2 a• Components to improve communication skills/ e: c0 `5 \4 P0 U4 f
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

6 H# Y3 x9 L& P7 ~% V2 G• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
$ e: J& u4 V* P* T1 X, q! wof Canada
/ i& D4 r1 \* L, O• have a Social Insurance Number8 I0 |8 I* A2 n$ j- X u# Q
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
! s2 K6 \; Z9 ], k: X" q7 [# ~• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
* Q# \9 Q ~6 I' V# J' `! J• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time& e; P" E7 R: F# U
program$ O4 J, j c- ?- C2 H/ E4 E% B
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet, q/ ]6 i1 c* m
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:6 G" Q+ [$ T6 \' G r
• be unemployed or underemployed.0 Z$ q: @& h7 C& T9 H- o3 F( @
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course) J) T% f0 V) o2 e( R
• meet the financial eligibility criteria( V( |4 G! ^) b7 n/ P6 z! E2 d
