A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.
9 X, X f G, L' YThis program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
$ _5 h9 O5 o u% aknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)( Z+ ` Y, S: q6 h
• Standard Child Care First Aid' K" v. {1 t# D. A: z2 G6 e: ]
• WHMIS. i8 M) x/ |3 |! g
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
' ]2 Z$ T( Z# i% E; M• Components to improve communication skills
" L( _, B6 z( l; t$ ?1 @8 O• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search1 o( u: R) T4 Y, B- ^ X
• Practicum Placements8 R# X& Z! r7 O5 G
Eligibility Criteria
/ f+ R6 t1 o+ }• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
% S1 @# F+ w4 c6 I1 }) Vof Canada L! s$ ?7 B8 d" ^/ \4 u8 a# P
• have a Social Insurance Number5 R% Q# m2 o, r
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check7 v. o6 [$ \5 _, V/ v
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
! i/ |& c' `1 C1 n% g% m v0 }• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time! p+ [1 G* l& n. A1 L& Z

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet# j, L" j4 v7 Q" ^
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:& H8 G: \% m) a9 ], V& r! _4 g- p7 T
• be unemployed or underemployed., I: c& ?, l6 K/ P) c9 ~
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course2 O$ E7 {8 O" a* h( g% V
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
