7 [2 F; s+ a: d' f% F. p% [, s avoid self-inflicted setbacks (不折腾)! W' W- I2 T- ~' K' y' E

( @* E9 O! e* _( x) T- e" A6 s; L9 x# \+ k I) [
“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.
; ]/ E4 G: F) |% n6 K9 R2 d# e& l! S
“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
