Description: The Neighbourhood & Community Development Branch is seeking a Social Worker for the Assessment & Short-term Counseling Team (A.S.T.C.). The A.S.T.C. Team is made up of 14 Social Workers & is centrally located at Circle SQ. The team responds to a variety of issues including relationships, worries over children/teens, domestic violence, financial stresses & housing concerns. 8 }) i; e0 @# v% o

Key Tasks - The successful candidate will report to the Director of Targeted Community Services and will: respond to citizen calls at a centralized phone in service; provide in person assessment/counseling to help clients identify strengths, family supports, and available community resources; take a holistic, creative approach to arriving at solutions.* R9 P5 C2 m3 T; h6 M8 ]

0 |: o8 x' q4 iJob Requirements: a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. A Master's Degree in Social Work is preferred; a minimum of (3) years professional experience in the provision of social services involving individual/group programs, family counseling & organizational and/or community work.
