Position: Regional Sustainability Coordinator / Terms: Contract Position 18-24 months / Salary: commensurate with experience / Closing Date: 11.14.08.

Context: The Grande Alberta Economic Region (GAER), in west central Alberta, is a partnership of twelve communities and one associate member, and is home to over 68,000 people. Focused on the big picture, GAER is a highly collaborative partnership who work together to explore opportunities; and find solutions for regional issues that has real impact for its communities and businesses.

Position Abstract: The Regional Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for effectively leading and delivering the AUMA's Municipal Sustainability Planning (MSP) Initiative, Phase 4.

The successful candidate will be self-directed and able to work within a collaborative team process, to plan/coordinate the development/delivery of learning resources/events at the local community level within the GAER region.

$ m, ]- y9 I3 B/ B8 D" j+ tKnowledge, Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in social sciences, administration or arts with relevant work experience is considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years experience in the following areas: community development/community leadership capacity building; development of partnerships between yourself and the local stakeholders; project coordination; knowledge of municipal planning; superior written/oral communication skills; report-writing and evaluation; working with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds; communications planning and implementation.
