在警察赶到之前，一名男性乘客迅速逃离现场，同时报告显示，在枪击发生后，一辆白色小车也急速逃离现场。

在大约山地时间凌晨2:45左右，警察发现一辆车正在靠近Whyte Avenue的Gateway Boulevard上逆向行驶。

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation, but police believe the incident is not random and is likely gang-related.

No suspects have been identified and no one is in custody.

! ~8 z; g4 f" k; u6 bMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

: \/ j1 t, m' l  j  q( ?Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

X8 g2 w) B* E8 a& z% y" b2 bA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.

; G4 }3 T$ w" R5 y0 V6 OThe three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.
