Compared to June, Edmonton new home prices nudged downward 0.2 per cent.

! W& }0 `( \* M/ V"Markets in these cities continue to adjust after experiencing record price increases in the last two and a half years," the federal agency said.

g; c. A9 V6 ^. J* VEven heated Saskatoon posted a slower annual increase of 13.1 per cent, "further confirmation of a trend of deceleration in this city. Many builders reported increased prices as a result of higher material and labour costs," the agency said.

9 n0 V' l9 ], F$ W# M7 OThe fastest pace was in Regina, which saw a year-over-year price increase of 29.6 per cent, down from its record rise of 34 per cent in April.7 }6 ~( S4 j: H. z
# g& E9 A7 @+ A. P; O# l, M1 eAs the market continued to cool in Western Canada, prices for new homes rose nationally at a slower pace in July for the sixth consecutive month.. ?+ W' C" U9 g9 t
: V$ j/ ^0 Y* b8 V0 \3 R5 x$ o5 o* aPrices were up 2.7 per cent in July from a year earlier, down from June's annual pace of 3.5 per cent. On a monthly basis, prices edged up 0.1 per cent between June and July. v% c# A8 L& q4 C' I6 i( ~$ o' T! u
