Position: Peace Talk Project Coordinator - Peace Talks Community Collaborative Project / Position is open until a suitable candidate is found / Salary range: $40,000-$45,000 with benefits. Note: This is a one year maternity leave with the strong possibility of extension.

Context: The Peace Talks Project is a unique combination of community partnerships and agencies responding to the issues of bullying within the community. The Peace Talks (PT) Learning Team oversees the Peace Talks Coordinator position, which would identified and address gaps and develop interventions for those affected by bullying within the school.

9 @) f( c8 \8 B& |) {) T% {& bWe're looking for someone who understands the current trends and issues on bullying impacting youth today with the ability to engage in a relationship approach model to addressing bullying behavior. The Peace Talks Coordinator is required to work in a team setting and reports to the PT Learning Team.

3 P2 |$ f) P# ], XThe ideal Candidate will have: A Diploma/Degree in Child and Youth Care/Social Work/Community Development or equivalent education/experience is preferred. Experience working in the school system, youth, connections within the helping community, an understanding of family violence/bullying behavior are required. The ability to network, engage with youth, develop the program and take initiative is an asset. Experience in working with youth is essential.

Program development/delivery: Providing bullying prevention and intervention strategies within the school. A focus e on gaps within the school system or community. Working with Principals/teachers to address unique school needs, develop lesson plans and facilitate bullying sessions. A focus on designing activities for students to build positive relationships.

Engaging Youth, Teachers and Parents on Bullying Behavior: Educate community, teachers and parents in dealing with bullying in a proactive and positive way; Work one-on-one with students regarding bullying behaviors.

Community Development: Collaborate with community groups, agencies, programs and other existing bullying programs and projects to build capacity in schools.

Reporting/Evaluation: Engage schools in pre/post testing of students and evaluations as well as be aware of current trends and issues in youth.
