8 g. H, k! x/ F    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
% ?: W! D/ H7 y& ]( ?* p    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
$ E2 [& M& X2 o9 ]4 q$ s+ J. I9 J    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
, C/ W# a' A9 S* m, M    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
: o1 T& R, [* `7 x7 j4 R    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
# [2 U' s# C7 M    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

/ E9 a6 ]# i* @+ ^1 e
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
3 P8 ~* l" b* }9 |# @    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
  N* P  a* _# S9 w1 a/ O* E. t6 W    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
5 W2 `) p) I# a0 m    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
! \( r  K' O8 H- \& k    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
  z% ?# i6 I* q    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
