* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region7 {7 A/ Y, s* Q# `- k0 t$ }
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 R* F- m: ~8 |. Q) d. S* T * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
' a$ b1 c- C$ \+ V& N1 M% ]; W * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations0 j5 \ ]3 e# \& `. e
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
9 p; \7 I: ~- ~7 d * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: T+ D! R# s# u * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
% j( z0 o2 B+ H ^% b5 q * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
5 @2 ^& Q2 j J: z( @5 p * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
) p, f* ]5 v2 a0 V$ y& d: d- P * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
: |, S' [5 h4 m0 h6 K * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline5 C. s0 i; Z: \8 u3 t
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
, g8 h2 d0 z8 \1 X6 @3 F * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies+ y, W" }( s; J* h7 l( _
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
; r# G0 ]3 Q" l5 S( u( p$ \4 k * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills& v1 c5 N- P, o7 P) X4 V

* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
