) s" B' d' P7 x * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region* c1 n% W1 d0 z3 Y; m( Y$ U/ r
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
* r" v4 L7 a7 O; e) v+ _ * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators% E# m" i( V; w
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
6 G+ `! q9 `) \5 V; m4 i * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth; o: d* h( O/ y7 r
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program8 @! L" E% L! H4 l6 @/ E" O
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline8 ]5 T: L9 T6 B f( k# ^2 Y
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth- U- U# r$ s$ x2 ]8 I, _
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies

* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
