* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region7 \6 V- R* F3 x3 _
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 t1 X* S; K! Y6 A * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators$ R4 U# p' @* I, E6 N
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
+ L! Y/ X+ I4 r& |6 I * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
: v1 q' `9 t# G2 R" S * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
) ~4 ?! F0 |( F4 t4 K * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs, o/ T1 f) O5 U$ v* S/ L
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly

* Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications' J- u5 u8 v3 x! o1 F" V( z; U' q

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline( [5 q7 k! V7 T9 |( B6 p; C. d
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
# k0 ~, r. [& ^0 U) [. x. _ * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
. t4 `$ o9 G* }+ J. W, O * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs6 T d h# B5 J; c' b. K
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community$ p8 j, M% w0 R: w. S6 J3 C
* Fundraising skills an asset+ D8 E x: U& u' I- ^1 Q9 ^8 E
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
