Meaning: Small pieces that are not used, loose ends.  i* e  ^1 E- X1 X' d7 b

I Stepped into the Bookstore today, flipping over an Oxford Dictionary of Idioms, and spotted these. I heard of this on the movie last night too.

but cautious when use. It should only use between close friends or family members.....

I heard this saying last night in a movie, when one said she had something important to tell the other woman, about her husband's cheating on her. The other woman said this sentence. I  thought she meant to mean that she is so eager to know.8 ^8 q; d5 Q# I! r- c# k, l* `+ Q9 Q% M

5 z7 f( t# n2 S! z5 z& M" ~# RCheck the dictionary and it means:
! m& g5 E+ \  _- h- _1 o, `, o/ b  V/ ]. G5 G/ o
Very interested in..... or feel suspense in a (story ect. ).

You can hear this between two close persons when the one being asked seems to show upset, be low, and just be different than usual./ j! U# O$ z5 U* V& t2 m

Meaning: what is upset  you? What's going on? What happens to you?" h2 H3 \& _! S+ y7 j

6 x3 u7 F. ?# e' Z* @, |0 pb. improving in general, as a state of affairs: The breach between father and son is on the mend.  6 b* J5 x) M! O% l  W$ c- a
