. n/ u& \: K0 d% U * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
0 r. |* i: |4 l+ t+ P* x * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography o/ o+ C) h& \. K! @. }
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
0 }/ o5 b! d+ \5 s: T0 M m4 ^ * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client. S1 l+ k$ q% M( [* [! t9 e( B
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry ]6 I8 B9 x' A% W: w5 |* k
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
# z% k9 W3 C( _$ ? * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

+ a, N7 X. k$ G0 r6 y * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
5 ?6 [# c# E% C1 X7 \ * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
" p( `1 Q. T8 ] * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel

* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
