* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis# \1 ], ?1 d* x/ `- A) r
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
/ r6 w8 @7 V& c. k * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques5 w N1 x( T c) x: L" f- y( L$ n9 _
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client5 p9 o. ?8 Y2 u9 A! n
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry% U$ F7 |! i: a/ K! }. G
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals; a. j9 ~$ ^) r' b+ D% { ~' g
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab& f# j! k/ L% V6 X# V# E& @
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices+ Y$ a1 q' L; y: B7 B
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)2 ^ x8 A; G7 g( z3 E1 s0 f

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
1 H7 l9 U3 v+ K i& s, V3 P8 w * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)) e+ C: B+ b6 {& T
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel! {# R6 h" d' a
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
