This is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for7 w% P6 O6 D2 c
becoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them./ B: Q% i( n2 W6 i# _0 g

Trainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials& f/ ]1 w3 G1 N4 X" E) J
of Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different0 g( [$ c% V8 d* e; S% A( a L
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.' C( P" r; T: s$ R

Certified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
