, L1 ?! o, y/ q* [Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. * P/ h6 C6 t# q) f

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
* z1 [" f* M# X! u5 v5 M( {6 \; _5 u- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
7 R8 f- p+ j z- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
9 s3 M$ Z V4 N! B0 q* p8 A- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies f6 d9 \; s; I# v1 L2 ^
- coordinate good will activities
4 }' _+ m. ?8 z8 ^* C( T h/ ?- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
^) M$ L* ^4 r- submit information for community news " S# ?- N0 K) n3 J
- prepare and send AGM information to members
3 L- f7 S: z; N M- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.# P3 q: w, t6 P( @1 [" h6 T# [
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- e) b# K0 S" }' T+ k2 z- update ASSIST website

- assist in writing proposal for ISP7 Z5 S2 {" e: K- j& n* Q
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 7 b* E. m+ E" P& {8 o
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 D* s) N) n2 n" E! u- experience in community work and immigrant services! G! c' ]9 r% L
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
