1 C: V5 u' s0 T( C0 q4 Z4 ePosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. $ A- X# C( Z+ E5 N; o4 z

! ^ w9 r% D I2 O8 r- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
9 @3 T' o' x; c8 w+ m5 j- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
$ A X( I$ O' k, V s: d- F- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
0 ^- [3 D1 y- {& W5 L0 g7 \- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

* K9 r9 D4 ~2 K2 E( x! @- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities9 c, z4 T& _! v- h% R4 g3 s
- update ASSIST website
: w3 m3 y8 S) z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP

- update membership database

Qualifications0 g- x( ~6 @# D1 C; H
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
8 I2 m4 @) k9 I5 y: V- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( @% ]/ _# l( q- i+ A7 Z/ B( E- experience in community work and immigrant services
4 c2 d/ P! Q2 J' _ j- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
5 }+ T4 K+ y1 e! {- V# P; e/ X7 G- leadership skills, c' N) M- ~3 W4 S9 v$ Q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
